The problem with Republican women is that they are married with kids. If they stayed single, they would still be Democrats.

Once they get married and have kids they start to think about child safety, education, economics, the future. And for whatever reason, these thoughts lead to a shift in their policy preferences.

Having a daughter has made me a democrat.
Same with all do my midwestern mom friends.

I always wonder who these women are that like being referred to as “front holes.” It’s so sad that they think they don’t deserve more.

Well we definitely think we deserve to not die in childbirth.

These are made up by the poster. No citation. Can't find it.

Why do you feel the need to make things up?

Abortion is so important. It wasn’t such an important issue before the sexual revolution. But now with the number of sex partners we all have before we’re ready for kids, abortion is an essential tool and a right worth fighting for. Most people are not looking to have a baby with their high school prom date or the guy down the hall in their freshman dorm!

Maybe you missed the memo but this thread is about how Republican women in their 30s and 40s think. And that’s…just not it.

I think there has been enough reporting and information put out there to get through folks' thick skulls that abortion is not simply a solution for unplanned pregnancy. There are lots of birth control options which should be cheap and readily available.

It is clear that the flip side of abortion bans are IVF procedures, modern medical care for some miscarriages and other complications, being able to attract young medical talent to your community, providing proper care for safe pregnancies and births.

The importance of abortion is what Republican women don’t think about enough, and it’s why the rest of us struggle to understand them. It’s like they lose themselves after marriage and focus on kids and everyone’s needs but their own. Most of them were all in on abortion rights in college, but they end up caring more about other issues and ignoring THE essential issue for women. This thread is an attempt to find out why.

Anonymous wrote:The labels R and D are misleading bc a good percentage of each support some positions of the other. Im R, but Im an atheist and pro choice (actually pro-abortion). Im for federal funding for abortions for woman of any age w/o parental notice and abortions on demand right up until delivery of the baby. I also despise guns - if there was a way to eliminate all guns, i would love to see them banned. Im R bc I dont want police defunded - i actually want more police. i dont want our border open to everyone - we shouldn't be the world's safety net. I want people to go to jail if they commit crimes, and I think the oppressed/oppressor framework through which many on the left view the world is simplistic and poisonous and that DEI and affirmative action are bad for a merit based society. I also am appalled at the anti-First Amendment views from D party. im an anti-religious, pro-abortion, anti-gun Republican.

Ironic.
The R's actually vote against police and law enforcement funding. The D's want more police too.
The D's actually wanted the bi-partisan immigration bill passed, the R's opposed.
The D's want sensible gun laws, the R's don't.
Merit based is great, but there is also making up for structural and institutional racism.

But go on and support a christo-facist regime.

That’s funny, I don’t recall the Republicans calling to defund the police and abolish ICE.

You must be brain dead then because Republicans beat up cops in the Cops on Jan 6 and cut spending for Capitol Police.

Because women in their 30s and early 40s can't get pregnant or have a bad pregnancy?

There's no memo that's going to make you make any more sense.

It’s sad how open degradation of women has become part of the platform of both parties.

I think it's bizarre that you think THE essential issue for women is the ability to legally terminate a pregnancy at any time for any reason. This isn't THE issue for me. It's not even top 10.
