You'd care a lot more if you held an elected position. |
Tell me, where are all these empty homes in Fairfax since you claim more people are moving out than in? |
| Skyview will have decent demographics. I don't understand why people think their property will lose value. |
Your house being rezoned doesn't benefit me in the slightest, what are you talking about? All kids currently attending high school will not be rezoned, so no kids will be "moved". So much drama. |
they were elected to do a job. They act like their only job is getting elected again instead of actually trying to work for FCPS. You can't make everyone happy with rezoning. |
It doesn't make sense to me either. It should be similar to CHS. I guess because Oakton is SO out of the norm for FCPS HS on demographics, anything but Langley feels like Boyz in the hood. |
+1 it’s going to be similar to the area as a whole but I could see how people at $$$ Oakton think it’s a downgrade. |
Totally agree. These people arguing ignorantly that property values don’t affect them have never lived in areas decimated by a general decline in property values. You don’t need to look that far away to see the dynamics from the rust belt a couple decades ago. But hey, she said she couldn’t care less, and that probably extends to even getting a beginner’s understanding of the negative impact on her coveted social equity platforms. I think she thinks that if she says she doesn’t care about people’s property values enough times then she’ll get an extra amount come government handout time. |
| Most people care about property values. However, RIO is over the top since most of the area going to Skyview is similar to theirs. Makes no sense. |
Not all neighborhoods look like franklin farm. That's why RIO is a thing. |
Schroll through the past MANY pages. Lots of people have said it. Pay attention. |
The Franklin Farm moms crying about home value live in homes that are worth $850K - $1.2M if you look on Redfin/Zillow right now. The same or similar homes are selling for the same amount that are zoned to Oak Hill, Floris, Lees Corner, even Fox Mill. |
Some of us are advocating to move our own children. I don't think you know much about real estate in this area. Let me guess, you bought your home 10-20 years ago, right? |
Yes, not all of us are obsessed with sports. |
Why on earth do you think the move from Oakton to Skyview is going to DECIMATE your property value? You sound insane. Look at the houses for sale in this general area? They are all still high. Unless you bought your house in the past 2-3 years, your house has gone up SIGNIFICANTLY in value no matter where you live. |
