Nope. I've been married to one person for over 25 years, have two adult kids, and have worked in public schools for most of my adult life. I just happen to think that Kevin Costner, a "movie star" worth $400 million, has shown his cheapness since his engagement (with a dinky diamond) to Christine, a woman nearly 20 years younger. His cheapness continues.

He paid for her lavish lifestyle, which didn't sound cheap to me. She left the marriage--when you leave a marriage, you stop getting the perks of that marriage! Duh!

Not a chance she got a little less than 80M. Christine was looking down the barrel of nothing and paying his legal fees. She had already lost two challenges to the prenup. The trial in November was going to be the final nail in that coffin. She had no choice but to settle.

What craziness is this? Literally nobody cares about either of them. I suspect the settlement is not favorable to her.

Not a chance it was favorable to her. Likely it was his original offer to give her the downpayment to buy something and he paid for her legal bills. If he was feeling nice he added back in paying 100% of the kids expenses.

The CS reduction was the final blow in her plan to get as much money as possible. 3 strikes at that point. She stood no chance overturning the prenup.

+1, the CS was her best hope of squeezing as much money as possible out of him. Since the judge did not side with her and had apparently signaled that the prenup was going to be upheld, a settlement was the best she was going to do. I bet he threw in more money that would be for the kids’ benefit (like paying all of their expenses and the down payment or a full purchase of the house they would live in when with Christine) just to make it stop.
