VHSL Girls Lacrosse Spring 2023

As an Oakton parent, I am convinced that the over-the-top pro Oakton posts are from a pretender trying to make Oakton folks look bad. I can’t see any benefit to Oakton from being so outrageous on a message board.

The Westfield Bulldogs traveled to South Lakes and lost 14-20. Some solid play by both teams ...

Teams have cracked the code on beating Centreville, their coach won't put her subs in and if you can sub in players keeping them fresh, Centreville can't keep up.

Someone didn’t watch the game and is talking out of the air hole between two cheeks. Robo was up big early and CV actually closed strong and made it a game in the 2nd half. If CV had their best player and leading scorer available, they may have actually won that game.

Cville had a good second half. Don’t think their goalie or defense had their best game but their offense was doing good, they would of done a lot better with their full team.

If this is your way of cracking the code, you must be the world's worst hacker out there.

Centreville played without key starters including 2 of their top D1 middies. Robinson was also without 1 of their best players, but it was a competitive game with 2 good teams.

Doubtful this is cracking any special code. For public school teams having capable backups where there isn’t much drop off in talent is usually a luxury. The best teams are those who have a good goalie and can field the most capable field players with solid stick skills. There are a few public teams that can do this up and down their starting lineups each year.

I watched Centerville play this past weekend. They have some good players and played well as a team. It’s unfortunate #22 was hurt. She’s a playmaker for them and can impact a game. It was evident their coach had to play individuals who do not have the strongest stick skills. I suspect the Centerville coach doesn’t have the luxury to go deep into her bench. Cracking the code against many publics is forcing the ball into the hands of those who do not have the strongest stick skills. It’s not likely it’s because players are tired and the coach does not generously sub players in and out.

Region B showdown: Battlefield -11 over John Champe later this week. Champe has some legit players and well coached but don't see them having the depth to keep up with the Bobcats.

Great post! #22 is a huge playmaker -- older sister played at UNC. That was a 6 goal swing against Battlefield (up 6-4 at the half and losing 9-13) when she left the game. Hope all teams are full strength for Regionals & States and watch some great lacrosse.

Battlefield games won’t be relevant again until the state finals. They won’t be competitive til then and it may soften them up.

Madison at SSSA tonight
CVille at home vs Oakton Thursday
Madison’s tough week ends with South Lakes.

We can all agree being healthy going into Regions is paramount.

Will be a great rest of the year. Kudos to all of the girls for their hard work and effort.
