Lot of great lacrosse out there! Enjoy it while you can as time goes fast -- appears Battlefield will get another shot at a state title and the four most likely opponents at this time being Madison, Oakton, Robinson, and Centreville (if back to 100% healthy). Will be interesting if anyone else emerges as some other teams close on the heels. Would be fun to have some surprises!

Agree would hope all teams get back to 100% health before Districts. Please don’t pencil Battlefield in finals yet. 1 game at a time. |

Very impressive game by Oakton. Their top two were as good or better than advertised and their goalie was outstanding. Madison played hard, but couldn't convert their opportunities, including multiple FPSs. They had a good defensive scheme, but couldn't handle the JMU recruits quickness and passing, or draw circle to goal rushes. And whomever has been saying on these boards that Oakton is too one dimensional and has nothing to offer beyond the top two players, hasn't seen them lately. Great team speed; aggressive all over the field; good structure on D. Plenty of supporting cast to make a run at the State Championship. And good luck "shutting down" their top two. They are smart, quick, and highly skilled--and they play hard. Hats off to Oakton tonight. |

Agree 100% with all that.
Side note: I did think some of the very biased announcer commentary was unique for a high school game. |

| That's so great for Oakton. Can somebody reign in the Oakton Dad on the WCAC/ISL thread saying Oakton needs to be considered a top tier program with SR, Visi and GC? I am surprised that dad has time to post over there between Oakton's scoring runs. There are two threads for a reason. ISL/WCAC play and VHSL play are apples and oranges. Bye, bye. |
