Rep Angie Craig, D, MN 2nd, was attacked by an unknown man in the elevator of her building this morning. She sustained minor injuries but was otherwise unharmed.
And this is DC, so there will be no bond for the suspect if arrested. And likely no prosecution if charges are ever filed against anyone. It was only a minor assault. She’s got insurance, I’m sure

Isn't it a Federal offense to attack a sitting member of Congress? So just like the Lee Zeldin attack, the Feds should pick this guy up if he's caught, right?
|
OMG you are such an idiot if you think that assault goes unprosecuted because of DC. Who concocted this weird fantasy world for you? |
Hope so. I am glad she was not severely injured. Get these criminals off the street! |
|
The attacker sounds mentally ill.
Getting really sick of mentally ill people on the streets, posing a risk to themselves and everyone else, due to a misguided belief in the "right to be unhoused." |
If you see an assault as a reason to come here trying to score political points based on FoxNews fantasies, you've got problems. |

Hours after being punched in her face in the elevator at her apartment building, Craig, a Democrat, voted with Republicans, against DC’s revision of the city criminal code.
|
| Bloomberg reporting that she responded to the attack with her hot coffee to his face. Good for her! |
As did a whole bunch of other moderate Democrats. You’re assuming that this was determinative. |
Given that her face likely still hurt when she voted, I think it’s reasonable to assume it was, to borrow a phrase from our illustrious White House press spokeswoman, “top of mind”. |
Good on her. |
| That’s awful; I think she’s great. |
| So where is her apartment located? A general location, don't need to know the name of the building. |
H street. |
+1 excellent |
