Everyone has to follow laws or consequences. Just like race shouldn't be used against an innocent resident, it shouldn't protect a criminal person.

Depends on your definition of “elderly”.

Her story was that he was in the lobby acting erratically already when she walked in. I'm sure she regrets not just walking out of the lobby instead of into the elevator.

According to the reporting he had been there all day sleeping and defecating on the floor, some earlier tenant let him in.

The attack happened @ 7am. So was he there all night or all day from the day before and all night?

My building in upper NW had someone who was letting people in to sleep in halls overnight. When discovered the police were called and the sleepers left. A notice was sent out that doing so again would be grounds for eviction proceedings, whether tenant or guest of tenant was allowing people in.

Hours after the assault on Craig, the GOP-led House voted 250-173 to overturn a revamping of DC’s criminal code, which lowered the maximum penalties for burglary, carjacking and robbery. Craig joined 31 Democrats in voting for the measure.

This interview is absolutely devastating for Charles Allen and the DC Council. Just devastating. I hope they keep talking about “colonialism” just to show how extreme and out of touch they are. They’re embarrassing themselves and this city and they can’t even see it.

I fully expect to see the council call for a ban on elevators. People should take the stairs because it is healthier.

Given how obsessed you are with this issue, it would be nice if you took the time to get the facts. The accused is as an adult and has previously committed serious crimes, which means that he would have been prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney's Office. The DC Council has absolutely no oversight whatsoever over the U.S. Attorney's Office.

Who do you think writes the DC Criminal Code? Oh yeah, the DC Council. And they recently made some fairly controversial changes. Weak attempt at deflection.

The policeman who picked up the phone yelled at me and said “where do you want him to go?” I told him that I pay a ton in taxes every year to the county and those taxes pay his salary and that when people like me leave the area due to this crap, his job will definitely be in jeopardy. There was no response and the situation was addressed.

I once called 311 because I was concerned about the unhorsed person’s wellbeing. I can’t imagine a situation in which I’d call 311 to have any person removed from standing on a public property. It’s a free country last time I checked.
