While they were very friendly and attempted to stay fair to both sides - the fact that they put up Brian in a hotel room while allowing Gabby to leave alone, uncomfortably driving the van to an unknown destination is outrageous.

I get that the officer stressed in the video that they, the authorities could not treat either party differently due to gender but c’mon…..gender definitely matters when sending a Female off alone in a van to fend for herself while driving a Male to a hotel and assuring he arrives safe and will be taken care of.

A girl has a much better chance at possibly attracting predators vs. a guy.
So yes gender matters in this case.

She deserved a hotel room while Brian should have had the option to just take the van.
Bad judgement of the officers IMO.

Also labeling her the “Aggressor” and him the “Victim” was preposterous at best.
Even then w/out the knowledge we have now.

Anyone speaking to them could see that she was continuously crying while he was chatting cheerfully w/the cops.
It was apparent that she was scared while to him, none of what was happening was even a big deal.

We have been over this SO. MANY. TIMES. She admitted to slapping/scratching him, so technically she was the abuser in the situation. They're not legally allowed to put the abuser up in a hotel room.
Legally allowed? Show me the law. It may be their policy or how they do things, but I seriously doubt there is a law.

I’m not blaming the cops, truly. But the one on camera giving HER a lecture on domestic violence has got to be feeling pretty $hitty right now.

Even if it was just their policy, THEY DID WHAT THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO DO. PLEASE stop blaming these guys, I'm sure they feel guilty, but they did what they were supposed to do.

Yes, yes yes!! They arrested the Laundrie parents! FBI have stormed the murderer's house.

FBI agents and police moved into the Laundrie house in force around 9.40 am this morning.

Five vehicles turned up with officers pouring out after the house was suddenly taped off with yellow police line tape. Shouts of ‘search warrant’ could be heard.

Laundries parents were taken swiftly out of the home and into a black propel carrier. FBI agents lined up outside the door before heading in at speed.

Not true. I was a witness to a neighbor being beat by her DH. He admitted to the police that he hit and scratched her and said he lost her temper because of sleep deprivation since they had a new born. They put him up at the Motel 6 on GA Ave.

Doubt they were arrested. Just removed during the search.

I think he’s definitely on the run.

I see what you’re saying and wondered about this too, but I assumed it was because she’s the legal owner of the van.

Exactly. They were supposed to give him her van? That would make no sense.
Hindsight is always 20/20.

Even though she was the legal owner of the van, I am pretty sure the officers would have been able to get Gabby’s formal consent for him to take possession of the van.

They should have done this.
She verbally stated to the officers that she wasn’t comfortable driving the van and that Brian always did the driving.
Yet after hearing this, the cops still made her drive it off to God only knows where.
They knew she was emotionally very upset since she had been crying over the last hour.
In spite of her not wanting to drive the van, along with being so upset they gave her no option but to go off on her own, in a town with less than like 5,500 people where she did not know a soul to fend for herself while Brian got a free, cushy hotel with a private hot shower, a real bed to sleep in along with a locked/secured door.

The police owe Gabby’s family an apology for sure.
Not saying they caused her to die….just saying they were not looking out for her best interests at all on the evening of 8/12.

No they do not. You are spewing nonsense based on bias due to the outcome. At the time they were pulled over, Brian was the one with marks on his face due to Gabby striking him. It was also her van AND she was speaking with her parents. If she was so concerned about being alone or driving the van, she could have followed the cops to town and her parents could have paid for a hotel.

NP and I totally agree.not sure why some are twisting themselves into pretzels to try and blame the police. These were grown adults. I think LE went above and beyond. Gabby could have called her parents for advice if she wasn’t comfortable driving the van. They could have helped her find her own hotel and transportation.

If your goal is to get as many eyes on this as possible, start a new thread. Many people just read the op.

Start a new thread. Include details that can give direction to social media (friends, interests, worries, has his car been found, etc). Social media helped find Gabby and maybe can help find this young man.

Every time I look at a van I think of Gabby and get so sad. I just talked about the situation with my kids, hard to explain without crying. We also talked about anger management. Praying for that family.
