Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS)
Exactly where does it say that you have to dump them together with the children who already speak English? Zip. |
| I don't think Dr. Smith bears any responsibility here. I do think whoever is in charge of security plays some role in this and some policies need to be changed. If policies were not being followed heads should roll. However, the primary blame is on the two guys, we can't stop every determined/patient psycho. |
I think this circumstance demonstrates that there are one set of rules for US citizens, and another for undocumented immigrants. The rules that keep your child in the right class, right attendance zone, etc. are throw out the window in the rush to accommodate. |
Please respond to 10:38. |
If they are legal why not? |

Encourage folks to go to this event Wednesday and stress that the highest priority needs to be student safety at all times.
Montgomery Councilmember Rice, MCPS Superintendent Smith, College President Pollard to host forum on Education Budget priorities at 6:30 p.m. Wed., March 22, at Walter Johnson High School http://www2.montgomerycountymd.gov/mcgportalapps/Press_Detail.aspx?Item_ID=19901 |

Solution: Implement an education system where you have university-track (similar to the German's Gymnasium) schools and vocational schools. Place the illegals in vocational. If they have high academic achievement at the vocational then they can switch to the university-track. |
| Rape, or crime in general, isn't the biggest issue, biggest issue is taxpayers are being robbed "educating" illegals by the thousands. These youth are economic parasites. |
| Illegals stealing 17k worth of education services while overburdening the whole system seems like a good rationale for deportation by the new administration. You would only need to deport a couple dozen and the rest would not enroll. |
How about if we have districts like in hunger games and we assign people jobs as they enter the school system.
God help us if any of these people are ever put in charge of anything. |
That's $17000 per year. At least $220k for the whole thing . No reason they shouldn't be treated the way the IRS treats citizen tax cheats.. Throw a few in jail while scaring the rest into behaving legally . |
We could have use this money to help our own low income kids. |
| Does anyone have any examples of how other states/school districts are handling this issue better? (Other than saying that those areas are not sanctuary areas...because that is out of the direct control of our school board.) Do other high schools, with typically low levels of crime (like Rockville), always have more security guards and more cameras? Do other districts have a different way of handling large numbers of older ESOL students (legal or otherwise) that does not include having them in the regular high school? For all of the anger toward MCPS, it's sounds like FCPS has the exact same policies and system, and I'm wondering if the same could be said for other surrounding counties. Is there an example of another district or state handing these same circumstances better? I'm not being snarky, actually asking, so we can come up with real examples and solutions to put forward. |
Ok, wise guy. What is your brilliant suggestion? |
