I'm really annoyed at the regression in his story arc with series of women in the flashes forward. Seems to go against the character development he had when he flew with the twins back to Pittsburgh. What up with that? |
I loved her character and would have been happy to see them together, but if they put Kevin with her now, it would kind of be a dig at women who decide they don't want to be mothers. Our culture doesn't give much respect to that very legitimate choice, and it would be a disappointment for this show to do the same. That was a powerful move by Zoe, and I admired it. |
| I might have missed it but it seemed odd that Kate’s children weren’t at her engagement party or her daughter with the bridesmaids as they were getting ready for the wedding |
Isn't this the story of Kevin's life? One step forward, two steps back? I feel like the regression is because he came back from Philly with this idea of being with Madison and it seems like there's no chance so he's deliberately dating women he's never going to be serious about. I realize I am an unrealistic Kevin/Madison shipper and that it seems impossible they are together in the end. But I still think it's them. |
+1000 would be totally inconsistent with her character. |
Me, neither. Not to mention her personality is horrid and unlikable. I just don’t get why anyone would want to marry or stay married to her. |
Perhaps but she is the only one he has truly loved. |
I agree. It doesn’t make sense that he would waste his time with a series of bimbos when he has his two children to parent part-time. |
The beauty of co-parenting is 50% of your time is completely your own. Shooting the Manny reboot one day a week? He's got plenty of time. |
Which is why it makes no sense if it is anyone but her, given how little time is remaining. If they introduce someone new a la Toby and Nicky, will be very annoying given how little character work was done. |
PP you're responding to. Yes, agree with you completely. Call me crazy, but I haven't given up hope yet, either! |
If the bra and cloths are in Kevin’s room, where’s the woman who owns the clothes? |
| We see a bridesmaid dress and pink bra over the furniture in the room where Kevin is getting ready for Kate’s wedding. Now we know that Madison is out of the running so it must be Sophie. Unless Philip has a sister, she is the only one of the women at the engagement party who Kate would include in her second wedding. She doesn’t have to cheat on her husband; she could just break up with him before getting back with Kevin. |
In the shower? |
I don't know. Part of his story is that he doesn't have a realistic idea of what love is. He lost his father before he was mature enough to see Jack and his parents' marriage for all the complexity and work that it was. They all have Jack and the marriage on an unattainable pedestal. To question that perfection would probably feel like disloyalty to their dead father. His view of loving Sophie is stuck in that same time period. They seemed to have been devoted young lovers as teens, but as adults, their relationship was never functional. He cheated on her the first time, and lied about addiction the second time. |
