That's as clear as it gets.

You keep selectively leaving off the level of countries. The CDC has yet to officially ban travel outright, I understand this is a serious situation but spreading misleading information is not helpful. Companies and schools have to take an abundance of caution due to liability issues but there’s been no blanket issue from the CDC regarding travel other than limits to level 2&3 countries. When/if that happens we will take appropriate action.

What -- I'm sorry you want the CDC to issue a Level 3 'Do Not Travel' warning to the WORLD?

Also if you're stupid enough not to read warning signs before each individual country gets to Level 3, that's your problem.

It is reasonable to be concerned and practice precaution, but what you are demonstrating is not reasonable. You shouldn't have to be in such a state of panic so I hope that you are able to find comfort somehow, whether through talking to a doctor for a prescription or self-isolating somewhere.

Have you actually looked at the guidance on the website? The advice on travel still depend on several factors- the destination, your age and overall health. Nothing on there would send me into the tailspin of hysteria like you seem to be in.

They will not ban travel outright. I know you really really want to go with Larlo and Larla on your spring trip, and don't really care about the fallout.

I'm not asking you to listen to me, just asking if you have actually looked at the website you posted. It has some really practical advice that goes beyond that one statement you are focused on.

But if you're not comfortable driving to NY, don't! No one is forcing you to go and it seems like it would be better for your sanity to stay home.

I'm the PP who said I had genuine concern (I'm not the author of any other responses.) Reasonable would be to yes, pick up your kid and not have him use a train or plane to return home. But where you are veering to irrational is that you don't even want to drive your car through New York and considered driving around it. And stopping for gas is extremely low risk, if you take a few easy precautions.

Have plans to go to a state that isn't a hot-bed right now via plane in a week. I am meeting family (also traveling via plane) from Texas. I am pregnant and my parents, who will be there, are in their mid-late 60s but otherwise healthy. My husband really doesn't want me to go - I am watching and waiting, but know things could change rapidly in the US (and in DC) in the next week. What would you do?

I think we're cancelling our SB trip to the Grand Canyon. I don't really want to and it's not really the Grand Canyon that concerns me. It's the flight there and back. Also, trying to be a responsible person and to put other people first. We'll lose a little money but not a ton. Sigh....

DW and I have a wedding to go to in Spain in early June so we're basically trying to see how worse can it get before booking or rescinding our RSVP. The issue is we already RSVD'd but RSVP's are 'due' April 1 so we essentially have 3 weeks to decide, and our travel credit cards are not covering things like this under their insurance. Our best bet is to either book with American or United b/c their cancellation plans are a lot more flexible for the next few weeks.
