Mean girls

Anonymous
We’re relatively new to our school (LS, moving into middle) and apparently I was blissfully unaware that there is and has been a known group of mean girls. Like dark stuff said at school and over text. To the point where kids have left. Has anyone had this experience with a group of mean girls already being formed before middle school? I don’t know quite how to bring it up with other parents since we are relatively new.

Why would you not expect this at a small private school?

Yes. Holton. Crafty/smart little girls fool adults because they are so smart/sophisticated for their ages. I was amazed/intrigued by these little monsters. They should be in politics.

Yeah at a small private school…this does not surprise me one bit. In fact I would be much more surprised if you told me otherwise / would assume you were naive. I agree it sucks though

Holton? Stone Ridge? I'm interested to know which school it is so that we can avoid applying next year.

I'd like to know too. Have heard about some really mean girl issues at NCS lower school.

This is an issue in certain grades at SSSAS, usually a problem in middle school.

This calling out of individual schools is ridiculous. There are mean girls everywhere.

Yes. So much so that there are years of research about girl-on-girl bullying as well as books, trainings, and workshops specifically for school faculty and staff to address this issue. Wouldn’t you expect your tuition $ to go towards these initiatives? This shouldn’t STILL be a huge issues at private schools unless they aren’t doing what they say they are doing.

They are everywhere. Prepare you kid with strategies to survive it and move forward. Get a friend group outside of the drama because in some cases....these girls mature so slowly that they continue it into high school.

Sure, they mercilessly bully their classmates but by high school they will look you in the eye and shake your hand!
