My husband seems ok with it given the obesity too often seen in women my age.

Presumably "normal weight" as in the normal weight range as designated by the government. You would probably be underweight, aka not that range

I am 5’8” and 115 lbs. I would say 115lbs on a 5’5” frame is normal to a little chunky. Hardly skinny.

Please don't have daughters so they don't grow up with such a warped sense of health and size. I would also consider getting medical help, it's likely you have an eating disorder.

You can’t shame me. I am skinny and hot. I don’t have an eating disorder. I just don’t stuff my face. I have had plenty of fat roommates to know what an eating disorder is. Have a hard day, eat straight for an hour. It is really not hard to be skinny.

Skinny does not always equal hot. How does your face look? That's the real question

But fat always equals ugly. Always.

No, it does not. And besides, this thread is about normal weight women, so stop going on about things that are irrelevant.

Why would it threaten you if another man finds larger than average or even fat women attractive? Does it really hurt your soul that much? Poor tink tink LMAO.

The only one projecting here is you. Go eat another baguette. You'll feel better, tubs.

Np. Uh oh. Triggered troll again. You really must be miserable, how sad.

Women like being a size 2, men prefer a size 6

Considering OP mentions stomach fat I assume she means America "Normal" or overweight. The pp you are replying to is not underweight.

5’5’’ 115 is a BMI of 19.13. It’s barely within the healthy range.

It's well within the healthy range.

What are you talking about. BMI is not a percentage. I can’t take the ignorance. No wonder 72% of Americans are overweight or obese. It is getting to the point that no one knows what a normal healthy body should look like.

signed 18.5 BMI

Under 20% for women is just outside the healthy range

20% is only in the healthy range for elite women athletes. Even being under 20 isn’t good.

I'm a husband, and I prefer my wife a bit overweight. The sex is a lot more fun with more curves!

DH comments if I eat something unhealthy ie high calorie. If he’s serving food he gives me the tiniest portion. Example - I weigh my food and eat 4oz of protein at each meal. We had streak and he gave me a very small piece. I weighed it, and it was 2.5 oz. I added meat so my price was 4 oz. He said, wow that looks like a lot for you.

He won’t comment on my appearance, but says he wants to support my healthy habits. I imagine it’s a difficult spot for spouses - we should love our mates at any weight. He doesn’t hide well that he prefers the smaller version of me. While 140 isn’t exactly skinny, I think he’d like if I could get down to 125.

He sounds like a controlling a$$. What a lousy way to live.

+1 This is a cry for help. Good lord. Imagine being so desperate to please a man to be weighing your food.

Or having him dish out tiny portions to you. Just sad

I was a little doughy in college. I’d say upper range of normal BMI at around 165 lbs (I’m also 5’9” so that does make a difference). After college I got serious about my health, I was also a bit of a workaholic, and basically stopped drinking and going out because I had no time for all that. I dropped 30-35 lbs without even a thought and about 2 clothing sizes, just from being super busy and dropping a bunch of unhealthy habits. And I got SO MUCH attention from guys which I had never got before or since. It was crazy.

This may be harsh to say but in my experience weight presents itself very differently on short women or tall women. Short women can be "curvy" and still look "feminine", very attractive, and small, whereas tall women can go into the "big girl" category very quick with some weight gain.

it's unfair and unfortunate, but just what I've seen.

Generally, most husbands like their wife right at the weight when they started dating. So think back: were you skinny? Or normal? Whatever weight first attracted him, THAT is the target.

Sometimes what people like in clothes and what is amazing in the bedroom is different though.
