How many more inches did your son grow from age 13 onward?

Anonymous
My son is now almost 6’5” and grew about 8-9 inches between 15 and 17. He’s almost 18 and his ped thinks he will grow at least another inch before stopping. He was also a late bloomer and one of the shortest between 12-14.

Thisis very similar to my late bloomer son.

5'4 in 8th
5'7 in 9th
High School graduation he was 6'2
After freshman year in college he is now almost 6'3.
Growth has definitly slowed, but not sure if he is done yet. Only time will tell.

I’ve been reading these posts about puberty and growth. The majority of boys, about 95% are listed at about 6”2 - 6’7”.

Statistically not probable.

My son grew 4" between 13 and 14, but he experience his growth spurt between 12 and 14 when he grew 9 inches. He's about 5'5 and I think he'll get another 2-3 inches, if he's lucky.
My best guess is that he's in stage 3/4 - he's waiting for some muscle mass still.

Statistics don’t come into play here. This is not a random sample. Do you know who enjoys contributing to threads about boys’ height? Parents of tall sons.

Yeah I get that. It’d be nice if everyone was truthful and didn’t act as if being tall was some kind of super accomplishment. Too short or too tall can make life more difficult so I guess average height can be too boring to even bother posting.

And really parents who post these kinds of questions want to hear those responses so it's a win-win

I don't think it's inherited from the mother's side only...

My mom is 5'0" and my dad is 6'3". My brother is 6'1" and I am 5'7".

My dad's own mother was super tiny and his dad was very tall, and all of his brothers and sisters are all quite tall.

My 17 year old is just slightly above 6 feet now but was at least 5 inches shorter just 2 years ago at 15.

You speak only for yourself and your own sad issues. Best lover I ever had was 5’4”… no chip on his shoulder and an A+ attitude. He is now happily married with a great career and adorable kid. We’re still friends. Fantastic guy. Love ya always, B.

Don’t you love when people act like their ignorant opinion is shared by everyone?

I don’t remember caring what height a guy was during college before I met my husband.

Studies show that boys and young men love petite girls. They mature later and choose compatibility and love but the pretty shorter slender girls are the popular ones during the school years.
