The federal govt can simply arrest any local elected n’erdowells like that and charge them federally. Gun laws are coming, at the federal level. And federal law supercedes state law. So it doesn’t matter if some rural county sheriff says you can still hold on to your murdertools, federal law will soon be saying otherwise. And that local buffoon will be placing themselves between his gun nutter criminals constituency and the entire power of the federal govt. So how do you think that’s gonna end?

After the first few disappear into the federal prison system, I suspect there won’t be many more popping up to defend a d deputize gun nutters.
