There's just not enough people who care enough, on either side, to start a civil war. Also, this country is way spread out. Are the militias going to ravage the suburbs? Doing what exactly?

Trump said there would be violence if he lost. He said that as a threat. Really, in America we're threatened with violence to vote for someone? He meant what he said. I have no doubt he would LOVE to see people fighting over him as president. He and his followers are sick. Don't treat him as if they're normal -- they're not normal.

The question is whether the police, whom Trump has been sucking off for the last 4 years, will be for the people or for Trump. Same with the military. That's why George Papadopoulos tweeted "The military is with the president." Is it, or will it come to the aid of the American people?

So far Republicans have backed him up in extraordinary ways. We'll see what happens.

If the people on this thread are representative of the same demographics as DCUM overall, they have very little to fear from civil conflict. You think Trump supporters are going to, what, roll up through AU Park and Chevy Chase shooting at you? Or that things are going to get so bad so fast that white educated elites with money can’t flee somewhere else before they’re in any real danger? That’s a fantasy on par with Trump’s claim that he won the election.

Then there are those of us who are neither white nor rich enough to easily flee. While you’re being dismissive about “ fantasies”, do you have any actual practical suggestions?
