Should white women who marry "ethnic" men change their last names?

You’re racist OP. “ lily-white” is offensive.

Is it bad form for a lily-white American woman who marries a man with an obviously Latino/Asian/Middle Eastern-sounding name to change to her husband's name or should she keep her own (anglo-American) surname? Of course some women today prefer keeping their maiden names anyway.

I don't know why, but something just rubs me as cultural appropriation or faking diversity when someone like Larla Jones gets married and becomes Larla Rodriguez, Larla Zhang, or Larla Al-Habib. It's like pretending not to be white.

If this bothers you so much, please don't worry about talking to me. I have plenty of friends who aren't idiots.

Do white women marry ethnic men?
I’m betting the soon to be 6/3 Supreme Court will have something to say about that.

So keep her father’s name and let her kids have her husband’s name? How progressive!

Or she could keep HER NAME (the name she’s been using since birth) and then also give her children her name since she grew them and gave birth to them.

Omg 😆

OP a lot of deflection coming from you to disguise the obvious fact you're very jealous of white women.

You should work on your self esteem, and stop feeling threatened by others.

I am white, and for a short time dated a Japanese guy. No, no way would I be satisfied with the small nature of his genitals the rest of my life. I did marry an Egyptian guy who definitely satisfies me!

I kept my own name. Our 2 kids have my last name as their middle name. His last name as their last name. We negotiated the whole kids'-last-name thing by him letting me have total choice over their first name. I gave our girl an Egyptian name and our son an Irish (me) name.

Like many others, I basically got the right to choose our kids' first and middle name if I capitulated and gave the kids DH's last name. Fair trade, I figured. I am white and married my lovely Nigerian husband with a looooong last name. I kept my own name when I married. Never ever considered doing otherwise.

So then everyone assumes the dad is the stepdad? Sometimes all this nonsense gets to be a bit much.

Weird post. Race should not play a role in this personal decision.

- except the nominee chose to adopt Black children from the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, you moron.

But nice try at your failed attempt to paint Amy Coney Barrett as a racist.

You can have black children, or Asian children, or Hispanic children and still be a racist.

I married a guy with a Russian last name. Not sure if that's ethnic enough for you, but no one can spell it and I've had Russian speakers say I'm pronouncing it wrong. It's annoying because people assume I have some heritage that I don't.

OK. Whatever.

ACB is in no way a racist.
