Many differences. Totally different experience of the virus there. Very little of it. In contrast, we have had a number of parents of MCPS students die of COVID. It’s been much more intense here. Also, our schools are bigger and more overcrowded, increasing risk, particularly in older, poorly ventilated buildings. I think it may feel much scarier here to understand how you would be protected. |
You need to travel more. MD is hardly the center of the universe, babe. |
Exactly! Their point is meaningless. |
And who is their Superintendent? PATRICK MURPHY Maybe Arlington should have tried harder to keep him (j/k I like Duran) |
I wouldn't count on this happening with any surety. Could it? Yes, but Berkeley County has the second-highest number of covid cases in the state (Monongalia County, home of WVU, is first). The governor has indicated it will be a county-by-county decision and any schools opening in person will be after Labor Day. WV was one of the first states to shut down all in-person learning this spring. Lots of older folks, multi-generational households and poor health indicators compared to much of the country. I think all this will be taken into consideration. |
Uh, delusional... table for one? Facts, we deal in facts. You mentioned "the rest of the world" ok, so where? Name all of the countries that are starting in school, in person, on the first day of schul. If you you can't/won't, it will confirm for us what we already know... that you're a fool who makes broad blanket statements in hopes of sounding believable, but you can't back up your claim. |
| My friend in Boston said Monday that they still don’t know what the plan is for their schools. |
Teachers in NJ reporting the same thing. |
Not OP but most are doing hybrid. Hardly any are doing all DL. Boston NYC Philadelphia DC Raleigh Hartford Providence Indianapolis Newark Pittsburgh Chicago To name a few.... |
Not the PP but name one country doing online school this coming year besides Merica |
They opened all of their schools and closed a few temporarily. But.. if you are going to get picky, how about Germany? 623 per square mile. I mean, I can go all day here |
NP here.... crickets. Lol |
Sure, the situation could change.. but at least they're trying. MCPS has just thrown up their hands and not even tried. |
But but but......
|
Yes, indeed. Facts are stubborn things. |
