Has anyone heard anything about refunds from Calleva?

*And* keeping our money? That is unacceptable.

It’s really no different than if they had (or have) to cancel outright. At least this way, they can get a sense for who would actually still want to attend.

There is a big difference between cancelling outright because camp can't be run safely and kicking people out and having (potentially different) people register. Especially if there are people who were originally registered who aren't able to register this time. Why should they lose their money?

What a disaster. I can’t believe that they would re-open registration. If that happens, they had better refund everyone who doesn’t get a spot, including the deposit. Ugh.

Congressional also reopened registration. They cancelled all existing camps and then reopened for one single 6 week camp, with only 149 spots. They are keeping the $100 deposit and applying it to 2021 and refunding the rest (just as a comparison)

It would be more fair to have a lottery among the people who are registered. Those who don't get picked get their money refunded in full. There can be a waiting list in case someone gets picked who doesn't want to go.

And they're assuming no one will sue over $100. However, I wouldn't be surprised if a class action lawsuit isn't filed.

This is seriously nuts.

Did folks actually get emails from Calleva last night/this morning with this information? We are registered for weeks 5-8 and haven heard from them since their email last week.

No, just the news clip.

Is it open to everyone, or just people who had previously registered? Let’s assume 100 people are signed up, but they can only accommodate 50. As long as only the 100 people signed up now are given the option, at least initially, to sign up, I have no issue.

If it is truly open to the public at large with no priority to people who signed up before, then yes, that would be a problem.

Also under this scenario, they should refund 100% everyone who doesn’t get a spot

If they simply have to cancel outright, are you ok with their current policy?

I got an email from Calleva last night and was able to easily sign up to get a refund/credit.

DP, but yes. If there's no camp at all, effectively spreading the loss seems fair. But if there is camp and Larla, who wasn't planning on going to Calleva before gets a spot and I don't, I shouldn't have to pay to effectively subsidize Larla.

It worked for me this morning. I chose donation, in order to get access to early bird registration next summer. For future weeks, I will make it a credit.

I doubt they would open it up to the public before they do current registrants.
