Would you punish college son or daughter for getting fired from summer internship?

Lol. I am the top person. I don’t have to pretend. I just don’t know who hired these kids. It’s no big deal. I am not going to let these kids come onboard.

If problematic early childhood is an issue here (kid was adopted?), I would not “punish” them.
Maybe they are incapable (be it by nature or nurture) or keeping up with the expectations. I think what you need to focus on is how long you want to/can keep making sure they function up to par. Maybe it is time to leave them to their own devices (except providing food and maybe housing).
