Anyone else find the new group of people to be annoying? I kind of like the surly Magda, but the bearded guy and the others are DULL.

Daryl, how I love you. Just wish you'd wash that hair.

At least they have a somewhat interesting storyline now that the whisperers have entered the picture. So creepy.

I am loving season 9! But having trouble accepting the newcomers. Magda does seem interesting, but sketchy. It’s hard for me to like and accept that many new characters at once along with the big time jump and after losing such important characters. I don’t really miss Maggie though, I found her to be annoying the last few seasons. And I like the dynamic between Jesus & Tara running hilltop.
Not a fan of Henry either, not little boy Henry, or the new older version. He seems way too naive and whiny to say he grew up in that world.
Poor Daryl, I feel so sad for him living all alone, looking for Rick after all these years. (And seriously, Carol had 30 minutes and only cut off one hank of his hair?? Maybe next time she’ll bring scissors and shampoo)
I hope they explain those X scars next episode!

Yes! I agree with everything (except that I'm not loving season 9). Henry little boy and Henry big boy are both annoying! Do you ever watch Talking Dead? They had older Henry on and divulged that the actor is actually the big brother of younger Henry! And.... that they're both brothers to the actress who played Sophia (Carol's daughter)!! How wild is that? They had her on TD as well, and she's gorgeous - no longer little Sophia.

I thought the hair scene with Daryl and Carol was ridiculous. All she did was move some greasy hair to another part of his forehead. That's it. There was no cutting and *definitely* no washing. I know there's been a ton of speculation about those two, but I've always thought of them as an older sister/younger brother dynamic. I think she was deeply grateful to him for searching so hard for Sophia and she has so much respect for him (and vice-versa) - but I've never felt there was any romantic chemistry between them. Something about her bugs me so much. I think that she's kind of prissy and talks a bit like a baby. I wonder if Daryl will ever have a romantic interest who is totally worthy of him, and not just thrown at him like some of these other wacko couplings.

I also found it sad that he had been searching for Rick all this time. He truly loved Rick as a brother and it was heartbreaking to see him cry when he thought Rick had died.

OMG, it's getting so creepy now - finally! I wanted to smack them when they were hiding from the Whisperers though. They kept shining their flashlights and Dog kept barking. Hello???? Try staying quiet and still!

Can't wait to learn more about the Whisperers and what their end game is.

DON'T READ if you haven't watched Sunday's ep yet

The actor who played Jesus thought the writers didn't realize the character's potential

I expressed unhappiness last season. I was very frustrated with what the character had been doing. He arrived in a very cool way, and then he floundered at the Hilltop. During the war with the Saviors, the only person he had a fight with was a man who was on his side [in Lennie James' Morgan]. In the comics, he has this massive fight with Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). He catches a grenade, and throws it back [at his enemies]. He's the most capable member of the entire group! And he wasn't used at all [on the show]. In the background, I was training every single week. I was ready and raring to go. You can't help but feel a little bit despondent when you're not released to do some cool stuff. It was mutual and they knew I would be OK with it. It's an amazing show and I was so honored to be a part of it, but at the same time, being the same character without anything fun to do is a bit frustrating.

That's what he did in the comic, to prove to everyone that he'd changed and was trustworthy (and they did eventually release him and integrate him into their society). I guess the show is going in a different direction with his character.

Georgie was the woman who showed up at Hilltop mysteriously last season and traded them a book of technology to help build their society in exchange for a crate of records.

Georgie is that woman who arrived out of nowhere several seasons back. She brought records and manuals to show how to build things (windmills, etc.) to keep civilization going. She came with a couple of other people and then just left - it was never clear where she and her people actually lived. But now apparently, Maggie has gone to stay with her and learn more about all the things Georgie is teaching/sharing. Very vague and confusing.

I doubt it's the same group. The group Jadis was working with is very sophisticated - helicopter, code systems, communication plans, medical equipment - in their efforts to stay above (including literally, with the helicopter) the walkers. The Whisperers are more primal, they seem to have embraced the walkers as their own, wearing their skin and walking among them.

The Maggie leaving to be with Georgie stroy line is probably the lamest story line ever. Mayor character who just suddenly "goes off with" Georggie. The writed adn producers need to get it together instead of losing major cast members left and right because they can't write and the show is going downhill.

Andrew Lincoln had been making noise for a couple of years about wanting to wrap up his time on the show because he was over being separated from his family for six months of the year. As for Lauren Cohan, she was on the show for eight years, it's not unreasonable that she'd want to try something new. Plus, she hasn't sworn off coming back, she's said that if her new show doesn't get picked up she might return to the cast, and even if it does, she still might make guest appearances on TWD.
