Walking Dead Season 9 (SPOILERS)

I actually think it's getting good again with the Whisperers, although I'm mad about killing off Jesus. I agree with the actor - he was underutilized.

Also mad about the Negan thing. I'm so ready for him to go away, but I would assume they're going to use him to fight the Whisperers. Suddenly he'll be on their side because they haven't faced anyone like the Whisperers so far and they'll need someone equally messed up and crazy to fight that kind of war.

He was absolutely underutilized last season, but with him running hilltop there was so much potential for his character this season! I was sad to see him go.

Anyone else find the new group of people to be annoying? I kind of like the surly Magda, but the bearded guy and the others are DULL.

Daryl, how I love you. Just wish you'd wash that hair.

At least they have a somewhat interesting storyline now that the whisperers have entered the picture. So creepy.

? Who is George?

Georgie is that woman who arrived out of nowhere several seasons back. She brought records and manuals to show how to build things (windmills, etc.) to keep civilization going. She came with a couple of other people and then just left - it was never clear where she and her people actually lived. But now apparently, Maggie has gone to stay with her and learn more about all the things Georgie is teaching/sharing. Very vague and confusing.

The Maggie leaving to be with Georgie stroy line is probably the lamest story line ever. Mayor character who just suddenly "goes off with" Georggie. The writed adn producers need to get it together instead of losing major cast members left and right because they can't write and the show is going downhill.

Andrew Lincoln had been making noise for a couple of years about wanting to wrap up his time on the show because he was over being separated from his family for six months of the year. As for Lauren Cohan, she was on the show for eight years, it's not unreasonable that she'd want to try something new. Plus, she hasn't sworn off coming back, she's said that if her new show doesn't get picked up she might return to the cast, and even if it does, she still might make guest appearances on TWD.

I hope she does not come back - I find her extremely irritating. I had no problem with her leaving the show, but they could have come up with a better storyline than all of a sudden, she's gone. That was lazy writing.

In the preview, we see Negan back at the Sanctuary, saying, "I'm baaaaack!" What I wish is that the Sanctuary dwellers would lock him up and torture him the way he tortured them (the iron, etc.). I know, I'm a sicko. But it really doesn't seem he's been punished enough for what he did. Even if they'd just kill him, I'd be satisfied.

She wasn’t just suddenly gone, they were building to it all through the beginning of the season. The conversations between Maggie and Jesus about Georgie trying to recruit Maggie but Maggie felt like she wasn’t done at Hilltop, the conflict over how to handle Negan leading up to her going to kill him until she realized he was already broken, which finally let her put her anger to rest and gave her freedom to leave.

This has gone on way too long. I agree with everyone that it reached its peak a few seasons ago. there are only so many ways to pit humans against zombies.

I think part of the problem is that you’re still viewing it as a show about humans vs. zombies, which it really isn’t. The zombies are the background for a show about people.

This is true also. As my husband said, it's not a show about zombies. It's about what humans do to each other. But still, the exciting story arc ended long ago. Now it's just about who's going to supply food for what community, as well as ridiculous couplings. It's sad that it's gotten so dumb because it used to be fabulous.

The show barely covers the "couplings," and I don't really see what you'd find them so ridiculous about them, unless it really bothers you that they're mixed-race.

Dp. It's not that they're mixed raced. It's the overstating of colorblindness in the form of every couple is mixed. It is heavy handed and pointless.

Agree completely. It's like the producers are saying, "Look! We're so colorblind, and we're going to make sure our audience knows it!" The couples just didn't make any sense. It's not like there was any real chemistry or attraction - they were just thrown together.

So weird that you are bothered by this. I didn't even think twice about it.

What happened to Dwight? Was he killed last season?

What is the rift between Michonne and Maggie?

No. Darryl allowed him to leave on the condition that if he is ever seen around again, Darryl would kill
Him.

Maggie was furious that Rick didn't kill Negan, as retribution for killing Glenn and Abraham (and so many others). Michonne sided with Rick and agreed to keep Negan alive, but as their prisoner. Maggie desperately wanted him dead. But then when she went to Alexandria to kill him herself, she realized that keeping him locked up was worse than death to him, so it seemed he was getting the punishment he deserved. So I think Maggie and Michonne are ok now.

Why is it weird that anyone would be bothered by people that have nothing in common, had zero attraction for each other, and are now all of a sudden thrown together as couples? You really want this to be about race, don't you?

what is going on with michonne? why were people at hilltop looking at her guardedly? why is there such a big split between her and carol? I get the whole maggie was mad at michonne and rick for negan, but it seemed that (a) it was patched up before maggie left and (b) that animosity didn't spread to everybody else. michonne seems to hate hilltop, not sure why everybody has to sneak around and be scared of michonne if they want to meet with other communities

I wondered this too, and then I watched Talking Dead after the show. They alluded to maybe having a flashback episode wherein we see what happened over the preceding six years and why Michonne and Carol are so awkward around each other. Before I saw that, I assumed it was still just residual resentment over Rick not killing Negan, etc. But apparently something else has gone down that the viewers haven't been shown yet.

This is why I don't like fast forwards. They bombard with information then throw in an explanation episode or a throwaway line that you have to watch 3x and say, wait did they just say what I think they said? or so that explains it! Since people are dying every other hour after what seems like 4-5 years you'd think they would have come to a resolution.

Um the premise of the show is that there is an apocalypse. And so people group together with other living people. Not just other people of their race.

People hook up and do it. There are only so many main characters. Do you think Rick was going to start banging Carol?

Why do you think they have zero attraction? I actually thought Michonne/Rick was well led up to with her relationship with both Rick and Carl. And they were kind of warrior equals.
