What boxed gift does my fashion-forward, beautiful 21 yr old niece want for Christmas (up to $500)?

OMG did it sell out already? They had a few left when I posted but I hoped a few on DCUM would be able to get it before it was totally gone! Sorry! -Publicist PP

Great pick!! You will love this necklace!! Enjoy it and merry Christmas to you!! -Publicist PP

Thanks for that, Publicist PP! In general I thought the J12 was a luxe watch but still fairly mass market due to it's price point. The Serpenti seems higher end to me so I'm puzzled when you say it isn't. What would your recommendation be (can be any brand)? I've considered Cartier but I'm not wild about it. In terms of look, I am normally pretty dressed up and don't do athleisure. I live in London.

Remember, just because something is expensive doesn't mean it's a high-fashion. And the J12 pricing isn't all that accessible either, so I'd hardly consider it mass market. You will easily find knock offs of both, though, and some of the knock offs are pretty darn good so you can't always tell whose is real and whose isn't. If you're normally pretty dressed up and live in London, look at Chopard. I *love* the Imperiale 36mm watch in Rose Gold and it'll likely be my next big purchase. There's also a white and rose gold Patek Philippe called the Calatrava that is absolutely stunning. And just a few months ago I saw a celeb wearing another Patek Philippe watch called the Gondolo and my jaw dropped because it was so beautiful and unique. She said she loved it because of how different it looked and everyone who saw it that day was wowed by it. Both of these Patek Philippe watches have several different models so check out all of them. I also recommend checking out the Van Cleef & Arpels watches as well as the Audemars Piguet watches. The AP's are having a huge moment right now and they are truly luxurious pieces that stand out like no other.

Thank you, Publicist PP! To be honest you've put me off the Serpentis by saying Kourtney K is a big fan. I just did a google image search and you're right. I will check out the other watches you recommend. One brand I've always loved is A Lange Und Sohne and maybe I'll go back to that since my attempts at being trendy aren't quite working.

Great thread though, your knowledge is immense!

You're welcome! If you like the A. Lange & Sohne watches, check out the white and rose gold Patek Philippe I mentioned. It's a similar style and I think you may like it. Plus, it'll be a new brand for you to try! Patek Philippe watches are phenomenal in every way.

Anonymous wrote:Publicist pp or anyone else still following: looking for jewelry suggestions for similar (price range $500 for Christmas and up to $1500 for 21st bday). Thanks!

As you know, jewelry is a very personal purchase, so my recommendations are based on what I know of your DD - which isn't enough to narrow down options without having seen her or seen her style and going by description only. I hope these help you narrow down your choices and also introduce you to brands that you may not know but I think you should. Good luck!

Jewelry Suggestions

Christmas: (up to $500)

- Trinity de Cartier Bracelet ($580.00) A very simple but unique Cartier bracelet, without being the flashy (and pricey) LOVE bangle.

- The Calendar Bracelet by Dalla Nonna Jewelry ($125.00) Really cool and unique bracelet slowly making its way through Hollywood. A birthstone punches out the date of birth, or other special date, and looks really cool on.

- Jennifer Fisher Jewelry Medium Molten Cuff ($475.00) For a slightly edgy but fashionable look, this piece is amazing. Jennifer Fisher is a big in-demand jewelry designer and celebs flock to her for her unique pieces and I've shared a customizable necklace below under birthday options.

- Jane Basch Jewelry Gold Small Script Nameplate Necklace ($437.50) Another highly coveted item and a piece that is just huge right now!

- Monica Vinader Pop Bracelet in 18ct Rose Gold Vermeil on Sterling Silver w/ Garnet (your DD's birthstone) ($350.00) Monica Vinader is a secret celeb fav and her pieces are all very unique and subtle, so I'm going to recommend a few.

- Monica Vinader Signature Petite Bangle in Sterling Silver ($425.00)

- Monica Vinader Fiji Toggle Petite Bracelet ($550.00)

- Robyn Rhodes Rachel Ring ($99.00) Another beloved designer who frankly does not get enough public credit but tons of influencers wear her rings.

- Cluse La Roche Black Marble Watch ($209.00) Unique watch that is becoming more and more popular over the past few weeks - going to be a holiday must-have for fashionistas everywhere.

- Nambé Wrap Ring ($130.00) Yes, the beloved tabletop and home décor company now makes jewelry and it's been a huge hit!

21st Birthday: (up to $1500)

So let me start by saying I *know* this first suggestion is crazy expensive and above your budget, BUT, when my sisters and I each turned 21, our parents gifted us a Van Cleef & Arpels Alhambra necklace. I've never loved a piece of jewelry more than I love this necklace and my sisters feel the same way. It's also the "it" classic necklace for every girl in LA, NY, London, and Paris. Forget Tiffany's. This is the piece to own. (Recently it was made more famous / popular by Roxy Sowlaty, star of RKOBH.) Now that I've gotten this suggestion out of the way, onto more budget appropriate ones...

- Cartier Love Bracelet ($1300.00) This isn't the flashy gold LOVE bracelet either, it's another subtle black silk cord one, and it's simple but beautiful. It's also available on a pink cord for $1210.00.

- Cartier Pink Gold Love Ring ($1070.00) Again, this isn't the flashy bangle that girls want multiple of because you have to "stack" them. It's the ring, which is very subtle, and gorgeous in rose gold.

- Jennifer Meyer Bar Charm Y-Chain Necklace ($825.00) Nicole Richie and Gwen Stefani wear a lot of her pieces so they're highly coveted pieces and this one is one of her more subtle ones that is still quite luxurious.

- Jennifer Fisher Necklace w/ a Small Link Chain ($330.00) and a Customizable Medium Tall Dog Tag ($800.00) ($1130.00) This set is one of my personal favs.

- Feathered Soul Diamond Moon Pendant Necklace ($895.00) I was introduced to this brand and this piece at a Barneys New York event and just fell in love with it. The simplicity of the chain allows the pendant to really shine and stand-out, and the necklace really makes a subtle outfit pop.

- Saint Laurent YSL Monogram Cuff ($795.00) Nope, there is absolutely nothing subtle about this cuff, but it's a great evening piece for a night out. It looks incredible on the arm, especially in the polished rose gold tone.

- Hoorsenbuhs Suede Wrap Bracelet in Grey ($700.00) Now this is a glam but subdued piece of jewelry and you can size it to fit any wrist perfectly (which helps because I have child-like wrists)

- Ippolita 18k Rock Candy Round Stud Earrings ($795.00) This is part of a trendy, more modern collection by Ippolita, and the pearl tone earrings are gorgeous on the ear - noticeable but in a soft and subtle way.

Love so many of these! I bought one for me (yay) and love lots but especially the Monica Vinader toggle style bracelet for DD (struggling with which one to get). Thank you PPP!

Anonymous wrote:Publicist PP, you're awesome!!! Love your jewelry suggestions. I'm shopping for myself, however, not a 20 something and I wear classic, not trendy. I typically just wear diamond studs and my engagement and wedding rings. I want a necklace for every day and have been looking at the VC&A but wondering if that is too young for me. Also want something nicer to wear to events. I'm 48. Thanks so much!

Publicist PP here. I definitely don't think the Van Cleef & Arpels necklace is too young for you. My mom wears hers every day and she's 60, and my grandmother who is in her 80's does as well. The Alhambra necklace is a classic and timeless piece - one that I don't think will ever go out of style. I see women in their 30's, 40's, 50's, 60's and up wearing the Alhambra pendant as their day to day necklace throughout the world, too. I spot it more often in London than anywhere else, where it's dressed up and down with ease.

In terms of what you're looking for when you say something nicer to wear to events, what type of events are these? What do you usually wear to these events? Who attends the events? And what is your budget? If you can give me as much information as possible, I will do my best to make a few suggestions over the weekend.

Thank you so much!!! I am going to hold off on the other purchase as the Alhambra is expensive enough for now and I love many of your other suggestions (I'm also getting my teen dd the name necklace). You are the best!!!
