What boxed gift does my fashion-forward, beautiful 21 yr old niece want for Christmas (up to $500)?

Publicist Poster here. What is her birth stone? Does she have any allergies to any metals? And is she more the classic type or more fun and trendy when it comes to her accessories? Any colors she loves? Just let me know and give me 24 hours to work on it!

She's January birthstone. No allergies. She tries to be trendy but not flashy. She always loved blue but wears subtle color clothes black/taupe/olive green. Again, trendy, non-flashy, subtle. Her one big "flash" is her everyday Balenciaga city bag.

And how would she look for an internship like the type you've mentioned? She'd love to be in LA/NY fashion in any capacity she could.

Perfect! All this info will help big-time! As for how she can get an internship like that, I'd be more than happy to connect with her. For DCUM purposes, if you'd like to email me yourself, my throw-away email is brendavbarrett@gmail.com And then I can give you my actual name, info, phone or email and can connect with your daughter to see how I can help her.

Publicist pp: since you've been so helpful, I'll ask--do you have "essential" skin & hair care products that you swear by? I'm thinking expensive hairdryer, those motorized brushes for face, eye cream, etc. Similarly, what makeup or other products shouldn't be scrimped on and what is just as good from CVS? All, for the beautiful young 20-something's who want to look good.

Publicist PP here. I absolutely do have "essential" skin & hair care products that I'll never stray from. I'm fortunate enough to have products sent my way pretty frequently so I've had an opportunity to test A LOT of what is available. I'm actually cleaning out my product drawers right now, so I'll take a break to share some of what I have and love, that I'd wholeheartedly recommend to others...

Hair Care:

- T3 PROi Hair Dryer (my hair is incredibly shiny and smooth when I blow dry it with this as my cuticles love the T3)
- Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer (lightweight, great for my carpal tunnel, but doesn't get my hair as sleek and shiny as I like so I use this for day to day drying)
- Ghd Platinum Styler Flat Iron (no flat iron works as well as this does, without damaging your hair - it's worth ever penny)
- NuMe Titan 3 Curling Iron Wand w/ 3 Barrels (gives me long lasting curls)
- Beachwaver Pro Rotating 1" Curling Iron (I was actually just gifted this and I'm obsessed - it's so easy to use and makes beachy waves so easy to perfect)
- WolffBehr Serum (the best serum known to man - made by the best team in hair, Philip Wolff and Chief Behr; gives you INCREDIBLE shine post-styling)
- Shu Uemera Ultimate Remedy Extreme Restoration Shampoo for Ultra-Damaged Hair (I've gone bleach blonde to dark to bleach blonde more often than Kim K has so my hair NEEDS this shampoo)
- Oribe Conditioner for Beautiful Color (keeps my color looking fresh and healthy)
- Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray (my secret key for volume and texture)
- The Ouai Wave Spray (for those on the go days when I went something quick and effortless)
- The Ouai Hair Oil (GREAT at protecting your hair from heat damage before drying + styling)
- The Ouai Treatment Masque (if your hair has any type of damage, you'll fall in love with this)
- Christophe Robin Cleansing Purifying Scrub with Sea Salt (you never would've guessed your scalp needed it's own scrub, until you try this)

Oral Care: (SO SO important for anyone in my role - sometimes people forget how much a great, bright smile matters)

- Philips Sonicare DiamondClean (I've tried the Oral B, but for the whitest teeth, I swear by this toothbrush - I've noticed a distinct difference in pictures)
- Philips Sonicare AirFloss Ultra (this is a product I was gifted, thought it'd be worthless, but now I'm obsessed with it)
- Crest 3D White Luxe Glamorous White Toothpaste (tested them all, this wins hands down)
- Crest 3D White Brilliance Boost Polishing Treatment (use twice a day in conjunction w/ the toothpaste above for a bright white smile)
- Crest 3D White Luxe Glamorous White Mouthwash (I only use alcohol-free mouthwash, and this has been my favorite)
- Oral-B Glide 3D White Floss Picks(always, always, always keep floss in my purse)

Skin Care:

- Clarisonic Smart Profile Face and Body Cleansing Brush (I use this head to toe and my skin has never looked or felt better)
- GlamGlow SUPERCLEANSE Daily Clearing Cleanser (I alternate this every other day w/ the cleanser below)
- GlamGlow YOUTHCLEANSE Daily Exfoliating Cleanser (I alternate this every other day w/ the cleanser above)
- GlamGlow SUPERMUD Clearing Treatment (use as necessary)
- GlamGlow THIRSTYMUD Hydrating Treatment (I try to avoid DC during the winters, but when I am in town, this is a weekly must)
- GlamGlow FLASHMUD Brightening Treatment (use as needed when your skin is looking dull and uneven)
- The Eye Concentrate by La Mer (you can get by without using any other La Mer product, but this is a gift from the gods)
- Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Face Cream with Super 7 Complex (this is my day to day moisturizer, it's very lightweight and absorbs quickly!)
- Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II (this is what I use every night, it doesn't get any better than this product for anti-aging needs)
- Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask (put this on at night, before bed, and wake up with soft, kissable lips)
- Glossier Balm Dotcom Universal Skin Salve (use this as your daytime lip balm, although you can use it anywhere on your body that is dry and needs some lovin')
- Acqua Di Parma Blu Mediterraneo Arancia Di Capri Shower Gel (you'll feel like you've been transported to the island of Capri every morning)
- Tracie Martyn Shakti Resculpting Body Cream (expensive as hell, but good lord does your skin feel amazing afterwards! can't give this product up)
- Fresh Sugar Acai Age-Delay Body Cream (I alternate my expensive body cream with this)

I personally don't skimp on any of the items I've listed above with drugstore products because looking healthy and young is so important when you're in entertainment and fashion. I make sure I'm using the best available products that actually give me the results I want. With things like body lotion, when you're not being photographed and scrutinized by clients, brands, and everyone else, you can certainly get away with using Jergens, so by all means, save money on things like body lotion, but don't skimp when it comes to your face. It's what everyone sees every day, no matter what industry you work in, and it's what you see in the mirror every day. Buy the best items you can within your budget for your skincare needs and you won't regret it.

Makeup: (there are only a handful of things you need to splurge on, which are listed below - for everything else, go to your favorite DRUGSTORE!)
- Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation (always, always, always buy the BEST foundation you can afford - and this one is my gold standard)
- Real Techniques Brushes (not as expensive as others and you don't need them to be - buy each brush in this set, take care of them, and you'll never need another brush again)
- beautyblender original (I've tried the dupes, but I prefer the OG)
- Christian Dior Diorskin Nude Skin Perfecting Hydrating Concealer (I've tried them all, but this is the one that looks best on most everyone)
- Koh Gen Do Maifanshi Makeup Color Base Yellow (a tiny bit goes a long way to diffuse redness, brighten the face, control unevenness, and reduce shine)

I know all of this seems like a lot, but for me, it comes with the territory of my professional life. My girlfriends, sisters, aunts, and mom love coming over to raid my product drawers and over the past 5 years or so that I've had my own PR firm, they've been able to see the value in using better products to get better results. And they've also learned that when it comes to things like makeup, if you have the best of the best when it comes to certain items, you can stick to drugstore brands for everything else, and you'll still look like a million dollars. I hope this list helps you out!

Question - any ideas for a last minute b-day present for a mom friend? Amazon Prime would be ideal. She's turning 36, and has a very minimalist, modern sense of style. Loves traveling. In fact is just leaving for a trip this month. Budget up to about $100.

Thank you!!

Publicist PP here. I have a friend similar to yours - just turned 36, mom of 2 under 2, minimalist + modern sense of style and travels A LOT. This is what I bought her for her birthday:

- Chloe + Isabel Bun Cuff ($45.00) [you can put your hair up in a messy bun while looking stylish - perfect for traveling]
- slip™ for beauty sleep 'Slipsilk™' Pure Silk Sleep Mask ($45.00) [this is the BEST sleep mask money can buy + a necessity for all travelers]

Now this gift is NOT on Amazon Prime, but it's definitely an incredible set of items for any traveler and I suggest thinking about because Amazon Prime doesn't really have the best stuff...

Allure + Condé Nast Travel Beauty Box ($39.95) [it's filled with every goodie a traveler could want!]

So here are some Amazon Prime suggestions - this was a tough task because lots of things I wanted to recommend just aren't available on Amazon to begin with, so this is the best of what is available:

- Laneige Water Bank Eye Gel ($30.90 on this Amazon Prime link) [must have for every traveler - especially one with kids - it's a miracle in a jar]
- Splendid Cities: Color Your Way to Calm ($11.73 on this Amazon Prime link) [don't laugh, don't knock the adult coloring book - I always keep 2 in my carry-on because at least 1 person sitting next to me asks to join in on the coloring fun and relaxation]
- Prismacolor Premier Verithin Colored Pencils, 36-Count ($16.38 on this Amazon Prime Link) [these are my travel colored pencils to go w/ the coloring book above]
- olloclip 4-IN-1 for iPhone 6/6 Plus and 6s/6s Plus Silver Lens/Black Clip ($79.99 on this Amazon Prime link) [turns your iPhone camera into a Fisheye, Wide-Angle, or Macro lens and weighs less than an ounce - a traveler must!]
- Kate Spade New York Women's To Wash & To Wear Travel Bag Set ($25.00 on this Amazon Prime link) [my sister gave me this because it's her fav travel item + I won't go anywhere without it]
- Kate Spade Imogene Passport Holder Leather Case in Balletslip Pink ($59.99 on this Amazon Prime link) [passport holder + card slots = time saver + must have]
- Luckies of London Travelogue Travel Journal ($21.16 on this Amazon Prime link) [my fav travel journal, gifting it to all my travel loving friends this Christmas]
- Barefoot Dreams Cozychic Women's Heathered Socks in Dusty Rose / White ($26.00 on this Amazon Prime link) [these are heaven on your feet]
- Baja Zen Premium Eye Pillow with Flaxseed and Calming French Lavender ($26.50 but not available for Prime) [I have my slip silk sleep mask and this on hand at all times while traveling]
- Anker PowerCore+ mini 3350mAh Lipstick-Sized Portable Charger ($17.99 on this Amazon Prime link) [every single person should have a backup battery charger - ESPECIALLY while traveling]

This will probably get me crucified on here, but no hose. Ever. My mom preached the whole slip / hose thing since I was a child, but I just can't get behind the hose part. I hate pantyhose with every ounce of my being, but I will also not be the girl who is prancing around in 15 degree weather wearing skirt - I'll stick to pants.

You're so welcome! I'm glad I could be of help. If there's any chance you can get me even a tiny discount on the Virgin Galactic trip to space, I'd greatly appreciate it. I rather spend $250,000 on something other than a flight if I can help it - so, like, a 20% off promo code would be super.
