She then saw that she had PR opportunity to speak out against it, which was really deceiving, considering she knew and agreed to it. Now she is cowering behind her good girl victim facade.

Where does she agree to it? I hear her thanking Kanye for informing her about it. It's sort of rich to be defending Kanye for saying something so vile about her in public, but then going after Swift for responding to the claim in public. There's such a sexist overtone to all of this.

You're disgusting. You discredit everyone who experiences real sexism when you make such baseless statements.

Someone above keeps saying that Taylor denied a phone call.

From June: "'However, that does not change the fact that much of what Kim is saying is incorrect. Kanye West and Taylor only spoke once on the phone while she was on vacation with her family in January of 2016 and they have never spoken since. Taylor has never denied that conversation took place.'"

Thank you! I knew I read that Taylor acknowledged that he called her and they talked about it. She said she never heard the song or the full lyric. Everyone assumed she freaked because he said he could have sex with her whenever he wanted but it turns out that she didn't want him calling her a bitch. Which was not part of the released transcript! So she wasn't exactly lying.

Fwiw, I am a Taylor fan and I do think she exaggerated a little. I think she thought it was going to be funnier than it was and only got upset about it when everyone else did.

unfair of them to release a video. Did Taylor record the call? No. So they're hanging this over her for a month, everyone knows they have a video. Tswift is easy to call out as a liar since she doesn't have a perfect memory of the one phone call from last year. All she knows is she felt (seemingly reluctantly) ok about a song. And then the song changes, she never heard it, and the music video comes out. And THEY are attacking HER for dishonesty? They set this up the whole time. I've heard Kim say crap like if they're talking bad about about you, at least they're talking. She knows all talk = $ and "relevancy" coming her way. Interviews, people who care, more twitter followers for her shilling. Kim will always be desperate. She is even throwing her husband under the bus to get people talking about her.

Meh. Taylor is a disingenuous poser. The jig is up. She can take issue with any and every minute aspect of that song if she chooses, to no avail. She's grasping at straws. She's been exposed as a fake.

What? Her people totally denied that he called her for approval of the lyrics, at least some of which they discussed on the phone. Whether or not she actually gave her approval is not the point: her people denied that he called her for approval, and she didn't correct them. So she totally denied that phone call. (And your comment from June is only from after Kimye mentioned that the video of the call existed and it became obvious that Kimye could prove a call had actually happened. At that point Swift was only admitting any call had happened because they had trapped her. But for months she appeared to insist that there was no call at all.)

What? She is still a talented musician. I am a Taylor fan because I like her music. Period, end of. I couldn't care less about her personal life. In the grand scheme of things, this is a blip. Taylor will release a new record and do a new tour and see major success yet again. I'm sure she'll win a slew of Grammys again in the future because at the end of the day, she writes catchy tunes and people like her music. Kim K is hanging on to fame by her fingernails. She is desperate and pathetic.

Anonymous wrote:Kanye did not call for approval, but to ask Taylor to release his single ‘Famous’ on her Twitter account. She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message,” a spokesperson for Swift said following the song’s release back in February.

That was totally untrue. He obviously did call her for approval. Why did she lie?

Again, this is what her people said back in February, and she apparently let that stand until June, only after Kimye said they had proof that a call had actually happened. That's just wrong and a lie.

I wouldn't call the conversation approval. He shared some lyrics he was workshopping. Which he changed. I would call it approval if he shared the song with her manager or PR. And the finished lyrics.

But he clearly DID call her for her approval back in January, whether she gave her approval or not, and her reps denied that in February. Then she didn't say anything about his January call until June, and then only after Kimye said they had a tape of it. What her people said in February was wrong and a lie.

From the transcript of the snapchat:

Taylor Swift: "I don't think anyone would listen to that and be like that's a real diss she must be crying. You've gotta tell the story the way that it happened to you and the way that you experienced it. You honestly didn't know who I was before that. It doesn't matter that I sold 7 million of that album before you did that which is what happened, you didn't know who I was before that. It's fine."

and

Taylor Swift: "And you know, if people ask me about it I think it would be great for me to be like, ‘Look, he called me and told me the line before it came out. Jokes on you guys, We're fine.'
You guys want to call this a feud; you want to call this throwing shade but right after the song comes out I'm going to be on a Grammys red carpet and they're going to ask me about it and I'll be like, ‘He called me.' It's awesome that you're so outspoken about this and be like, ‘Yeah, she does. It made her famous.' Its more provocative to say ‘might still have sex…' It's doesn't matter to me. There's not like one [line] that hurts my feelings and one that doesn't."

So on the phone it does sound like Swift was fine with Kanye saying he made her famous. She understood that was his perspective. What she really took issue with was him calling her a bitch. But it was unfair and wrong of her to insinuate in her awards speech that Kanye's lyrics taking credit for her fame offended her, when she seems like she didn't mind them on the call.

She was having what seemed like a friendly chat with this guy. She never heard the song, never saw that awful video...so to say that she "approved" of this crap is pathetic. No she did not approve of this disgusting garbage. And Kanye and Kim know that.

That tape of that one phone conversation proves what? That Kanye was intentionally misleading Taylor into letting her guard down. What a jerk that guy is.

I would love to know if Riahanna expected her image to be used that way or if he just took it upon himself to ASSume that she would be fine with it.

But he clearly did call her to try to get her approval of the lyrics of the song. And her people said that he didn't, and she didn't correct them. Whether she did approve or not is not the point. He called and told her at least some of the lyrics to the song, and she said she really appreciated it and was surprised he would even do that. Then a month later her people said he never called for approval. That was wrong and a lie.
