Taylor is busted. Nothing more to it. Wonder how many of her exbfs she asked permission for before writing songs bashing them?

On a separate note: I'm wondering if KK's secret recording of TS is legal. May be a wiretapping issue. If the call was in CA, which requires both parties consent to recording calls, then KK may be in a big doo-doo.

Not a fan of any of them, but enjoying watching the back and forth. I'm undecided if this was the right move by the Ks. I can picture Taylor's people spinning this to make the Ks look like that Dani Mathers and Taylor comes out looking like the poor victim. She won't be beaten this easily.

Wow that video though really totally exonerates Kanye and shows he was telling the truth the whole time. He asked her, he told her the whole line of the song, she didn't balk and wasn't offended, she calls him a friend, she thanks him for asking her, she tells him she respects him and appreciates that he respected her enough to clear the line with her, she tells him that if anyone asks her about it she will say he cleared it with her first, and she says that it's true, he did help make her famous.

It's incredible that she denied all of those things. It's just unbelievable. She didn't count on them having proof. But beyond that, it was a really SHITTY thing to do to Kanye when he asked her if it was okay and she said yes, and then she went on an award show taking issue with the lyric and saying he is taking credit for her accomplishments.

On that award show, could Taylor have been referring the whole time to Calvin Harris taking credit for the song she wrote (even though she was the one who wanted her songwriting credit to go under an alias?).

Swift is tarnished by this, definitely.

Only thing I didn't notice is whether Kanye told Swift about the "that bitch" part of the lyric.

On the recording, you don't hear Kanye telling Swift the "I made that bitch famous" part of the lyric, but he must have mentioned the making her famous part somewhere because she refers to it later in the call. Maybe he didn't tell her about the "bitch" part? But her reaction was so open and fine to the whole thing in general that he might pretty reasonably have figured she'd be okay with that, too.

Swift has responded on Twitter, complaining about the secret recording and release of her phone call with Kanye, saying that West never told her about the "that bitch" part of the lyric and that that lyric embarrassed her, and that she told West she needed to hear the song before she would approve it, he agreed to play her the song, and he never did. And saying that she didn't want to be a part of this narrative anymore and hadn't really wanted to since 2009.

I still think this makes her look bad. The part of the song that she took issue with in her award speech was the part of the song that she did not seem to have any issues with -- the idea that he had helped make her famous. So what she said at the award ceremony and later was disingenuous. The only part of the lyric that was a surprise to her was the bitch part.

At the same time, releasing the tape/video was kind of a nuclear option. It shows Swift lied, but at what cost? I hope KK checked with her lawyer before she did that.

It was recorded in NY, not CA. It's perfectly legal as it's a one-party state.

He thinks she is famous because of when he rudely walk on stage while she was given an award and told the crowd she shouldn't have gotten it. He's horrible.

After watching it here what I have to say:
-on Kanye west's wife recording the video: ugh, why record? They knew what they were doing. To me this smells of a set up all along
-on Taylor: to me she sounds a little exasperated. There's s hint in her voice of being a little overwhelmed or taken aback. It's not relaxed. I think she got through the call gracefully. I think she was trying her best from her side to mend whatever happened in the past. And I think she was surprised and consented to the two lines before running through PR, and now she regrets it. And most importantly, you never hear "that biych" come up.
