I dunno. We're only hearing part of an hour long conversation so that little snippet doesn't tell us much because we don't have the context of the entire conversation. If Kanye had really wanted approval he would have shared the whole song with Taylor so that she would have had a clear understanding of exactly what he was planning to say in the context of a completed song. He candied it up just enough so that it sounded like a "tongue in cheek" friendly joke. But that song and that music video are not nice and they aren't friendly. And neither was the taping of their phone conversation. |
Which is what ts should have done when they made the joke |
Then she wouldn't be Taylor Swift. Every slight against her must result in a massive overreaction. Nevermind that she is the most venomous of all. |
Sure, but her people never acknowledged a conversation. The truth is that he did not run all the lyrics by her, which is what they should have said. Instead they said she cautioned him about releasing the song, which does see like a lie given how "you do what you gotta do" she was. |
Sorry, that should say they never acknowledged a convo where he ran lyrics by her. |
They released the part of the conversation that seemed to back up Kanye's claim that Taylor had approved the lyrics. But there was a lot more to that conversation - some of which might back up what Taylor's people said. Since the song wasn't completed at that point and that music video had not yet been produced...it is a pretty HUGE stretch for Kanye to say that Taylor had "approved" of a project that was not even completed yet and that she had absolutely no control over. |
Yeah, she was blindsided by that song. That wasn't what they had talked about at all. |
