When you say 'alone' do you mean 1 on 1? If so, I agree with you. As a teacher I make sure that I am never 1 on 1 with kids. This has nothing to do with my sexual behaviors or the gender of the students I am around. It is simply never smart to be 1 on 1 with students. |
The word "alone" (with a student/child) is very clear. |
Breaks my heart to say I told you so, but I'm one of the PPs who said that an arrest this fast most likely meant really solid evidence right from the start. Usually physical evidence, for things to move this fast. True, when you have a high profile or well-connected victim, things also move fast (and sometimes not in a just way if it didn't really happen), but usually in child sex abuse, something this fast means there's physical evidence. Which apparently there was.
Very sad, for this child and any other kids he may have abused. And what a waste for him, if he was such a well-loved and great teacher, he just kissed his entire teaching career and any career involving kids goodbye. |
Not really all that clear. It was stated that a male teacher should never be left along with kid(s). As in- a male teacher should not be unsupervised with a classroom full of children. But- go back to being condescending. It works well for you! |
Would you leave your 10 old daughter alone with her father? |
That's like saying we shouldn't drive because it only takes one auto accident to kill you. |
No, not at all. |
Don't leave your kid with creeps. |
This is a very important issue PP has raised. The abuse happened in the classroom (I'm still nauseous about that) and digitally. This teacher may have never been technically "alone" with this child, but still managed to damage the victim for life. But we can do things to minimize the risks. We have one child at OA and another at a different school. The non-OA school has had several internet safety seminars for elementary grades to inform parents about the advantages and dangers of social media and the digital world. Snapchat was on the "do not allow" list provided by our other school. They cited the terms of use and commented that it's a slippery slope from Snapkidz to Snapchat. Hopefully some victimization can be prevented with more info. From Snapchat site. Snapchat is intended for people who are at least 13 years old. Persons under the age of 13 are prohibited from creating Snapchat accounts. For certain features or functionality offered by us or others through the Services, users must be at least 18 years old. Those Services may be subject to separate terms from us or third parties that contain these further age requirements. If you are under 18 and use those Services, you may be violating the third party’s governing terms, which we deem a violation of these Terms as well. We do, however, offer a limited-functionality version of Snapchat, called “Snapkidz,” for children under the age of 13. Snapkidz includes the familiar interface for taking Snaps, captioning, drawing, and saving Snaps locally on the device, but does not support sending or receiving Snaps or adding friends and, since the experience is local to the user’s device, no Snapchat account is created. |
Without that snapchat proof, it might have been another "he said, he said" (not "she" in this case) and denied and swept under the carpet. Yet again.
Considering the evidence, the perp had to admit guilt. Let's not fool ourselves here. He's been abusing kids for a while. And now finally got caught. Red handed. |
A fourth grader. How terrible for this child. |
And all the other children he has molested. Hope he gets the sh*t raped out of him in jail. Yep, I'm livid about this. Can you tell? Who cares how nice you thought he was? |
Wait!
Where are you guys reading that there are photos and a confession? |
It's in the WJLA article. |
