I have to ask- do you think op's story is real?
Seriously- has anyone one gone to a group playdate where everyone was drinking the same hard liquor drink? (and yes I know that wine or beer or vodka all have the same effect in the end) Doesn't this seem like the perfect sort of scenario that would bring out all sorts of flame comments? |
Possible. But we DCUMers would comment for pages and pages, whether it's true or not.

I don't doubt anything anymore... look at the pic these drunk moms took at their last play group meeting after the 2nd martini at 3pm..
|
For real. She had to be drunk to tweeze her eyebrows like that. |

Where the heck did you get the idea that Muslims or Methodists or any religion that doesn't allow drinking are sad, pitiful people and it's because they don't drink. This doesn't deserve elaboration or attention because it's a nonsense comment.
My parents don't drink my friends don't drink, and none of them seem unhappy over it. You can't miss what you don't know you're missing. I run a moms club and our moms are perfectly happy in playgroups just being around other moms. They don't need the taste of alcohol to enjoy themselves. By all means, drink if you want to, just don't drive afterwards. That's just common sense. |

"I feel sorry for people who don't drink. When they wake up in the morning that's as good as they're going to feel all day." ~ Dean Martin
PP: get over yourself. I would not want to be in your playgroup. You probably enjoy talking about the consistency of poop and led a lackluster life before children. |
|
But who asked you to be in my playgroup in the first place? If you drank we wouldn't accept you anyway.
It's total nonsense to think people who find drinking in playgroups are dull and boring and lead totally dull and boring lives. IT's simply your way of rationalizing your wrong behavior. You need to say this so you can absolve yourself of guilt. |
Meow! Why does it need to be one or the other ladies? Can we not just drink a bit? Maybe not the hardcore stuff? Maybe a bit of wine? A beer? Keep the grain at home? I love how extreme these boards get... |
|
extreme? begging people to be sober when in charge of their child is extreme?
endangering your own child is dumb and extreme! |
You're the one who won't be friends with anyone who drinks. At least I'm a more accepting or at least tolerant of people, unlike you. For the record, I wasn't saying you have to drink at playdates to be fun. I clearly stated you're no fun in general. I stand by my comments and have no guilt about it. Lighten up. In fact, why don't you go have a drink? |
