What is a non-student?

I have non-students in my classes all the time. Some are volunteers and some are observers. My class was watched by a journalist for a while.

Sure great teachers get fired all the time because they can't keep students off of cell phones with out students freaking out. Principal judges them as ineffective when they themselves are ineffective at creating a system of effective consequences. The effect is that teahcers get fired for systematic issues. If your admin you have a blank check to do whatever.

Wootton high school AP Psychology teacher had a girl who graduated a year before. She did not have permission to be in the school and this girl and another girl hurt themselves. It became a horrible situation and at the very least could have been maybe prevented had this teacher done her job. After 9/11 MCPS claimed schools were not open like they had been. What was this girl doing in this class for months? She want auditing or a journalist...

Refute the corruption issue not the demoralized teacher. We all know education is corrupt and demoralizing. What is your argument besides teachers are crazy and principals are heroes. You have no substance. You are just a yes man scumbag and your lack of substitute shows that.

Lack of substance*

Does mcps have social media personnel to try to paint rosey pictures of their educational Utopia. It is far from that. I bet someone has a full time office job to make mcps look like their are no issues with demoralization. The whole system is based on a lie this is why they can't keep teachers. It's a great safe haven for pervs and perps.

In the past I think a teacher had to do something wrong to get fired. Now if a teacher tries to do things right they are up for termination especially when you get brownie points for passing kids along who just mess around in class and bully their peers.

I think a lot has to do with the teacher's relationship with the principal. We have a lousy teacher in our ES but she survives, and there have been complaints about her teaching levied for about 8 years. You'd have to pay me lots to teach in MCPS, and frankly, I am unimpressed with 2.0 and the new grading.

A teacher of 35 years said to a girl in front of a class of 30+ students, "How can your mother let you out of the house looking like that. You look like a hooker."

Just one of her more famous quotes this year.

I had a teammate at an elementary school who was fired. Took two years of PAR but she was eventually brought in front of the panel and dismissed. Zero classroom management and a complete inability to execute a lesson plan were her demise.

Suppose you take a turn answering the phones in a public school? Within two days you will have talked to the dumbest people in the world, those who can’t find the simplest bit of information for themselves, and be cursed at all day long. Then you will e one of those “nasty secretaries”.

I do agree there comes a time when some secretaries should reflect on where they are in life and if they want to proceed with the job. Yes, people can be idiots and unable to find themselves out of a box but you have chosen a job in customer service. Our elementary admin secretary has a heart of gold deep down but really comes off negative and rude to many parents who come in to our office. Can be a bit cringe worthy at times.
