If you are in the late 30-40's age range with young kids do you look your age?

I used to tan, smoke, drink, party....up all night sleep all day, crappy diet. I stopped that stuff LONG ago but I'm sure that it aged me. I did have my fun, though. There is that.

Where do all of you who are unusually young looking live?
I live in NW DC and know about 200 women in their late 30's and all look their age.
Some have great skin, some great bodies, some perfect hair but they all still look late 30's. Many look good for their age and are very attractive but they still look their age.

Where is this fountain of youth?? It sure isn't in NW Washington.

For white women, you all are kidding yourselves. If a 38-year old stands next to a 30-year-old, nobody is going to wonder which is which. Having a slim figure is very youthful, particularly if you are petite, so I'm not surprised that these people get a ton of comments on how young they look. What they mean is "You have aged very well!" "You are not thick around the middle like most women your age!" Not, "I honestly believe you look like a 25 year old." Some of the telltale signs of aging are ALWAYS there (think hands and neck, as well as general skin changes.)

Most likely people have figured out that you are vain and know that you are eating their bullshit up with a spoon.

I am happy to finally be looking my age - because I feel like in my early-mid thirties I actually looked older than I was! Think the "early aging" period is tough for ladies like me - i.e. lanky body, angular face, stronger features - because we start looking a little hollowed out and gaunt earlier. Now that we are heading into our 40's though, some of those with fuller, baby faces are starting to get a little puffy and saggy and dimply and I ... basically look the same. So in other words, think aging gets us all in the end, but the pace and timing might depend on your features, lifestyle, etc.

Only people who I might except from this are certain Asians - and I lived in Asia for years for most of my late teens/early adulthood. I'd say most of those I observed aged in a typical manner (perhaps a step better than Westerners b/c of lower average weight) but there was a subcategory of women from about late 20's to 50 who just seemed ageless. Not that that they looked like a 20-something, but more like they looked indefinitely like say, 34, for decades.

I'm almost 50 and I'm proud of my age. I'm much more confident, know how to play up my assets and am certainly better in bed now than I was 20 years ago Who cares that I don't look 30 any more?

I was the curvy T&A type when I was younger - 5'5", 120lbs with boobs/butt.

I gained weight in my later 30's and that made me look older. In fact, I'm still overweight but at 48 that extra padding might help a bit with wrinkles. I can't imagine myself ever being 120 pounds again, I would look sick.

I'm 40 and have been carded twice in the last 3 days--I have a great colorist and have always been good about sunscreen. I also think perimenopause is giving me acne, which probably makes me seem younger, lol.

Yes, because most places have a policy to ID under 35. They know you're not 21, but can't be 100 percent positive that you're not 34.

Nobody is going to tell you that you look old. I like to think I look younger than my age but who knows...

Take care of your bodies. Stay thin. No drugs, alcohol, and smoking. Plenty of sun. Eat healthy. Exercise. Drink lots of water. Keep stress to a minimum.
40yo AA here with a toddler and I look young. I look younger than my siblings who are younger than me.
