If you are in the late 30-40's age range with young kids do you look your age?

I'm sure you look great but I've never seen anyone in their early 40s who really looks like they are 29 or 31. I have some very youthful looking friends and that is just too far a leap.

It's possibile. Are you jealous?

No, I also look very youthful and I'm not the jealous type. But thanks for taking my respectful post and attaching a base motivation to it.

NP here. I didn't think your post was all that respectful, actually. You do sound pretty bitter. Why else would you tell someone that they don't look as good as they think they do or as good as people comment to her?

I am in a Crossfit class and I was joking about how old I am and competing against all these young people...and two men were like 'whatever'--how old are you 32? I said no "44.5" and they both did not believe me. It's a response I get all of the time so it's not just people being nice.

My dad is 73 and gets placed around 60. He barely has any grey hair and goes to the gym everyday. I thank him for my olive skin and good genes. I have always exercised 5-6 days per week, taken good care of my skin and eaten relatively healthy.

My DH also looks very young and so does his mom. He is 1 year younger than me.

When a 45 yo woman starts joking about the young 'uns she is clearly fishing for compliments. They were humoring you.

This. You are probably very good-looking and many people have a hard time accepting that you can look so good AT YOUR AGE. I can say this because I too look GOOD and attract the attention of much younger guys. I think i look relatively younger than many women my age because i'm happy, in shape, and very lucky! But i KNOW i don't look like a 30 anything year old (i am 45). I don't think anyone sees a 45 year woman and thinks she is 32! Come on. look at a picture of yourself from 15 years ago. That should end your little fantasy. Sorry!

Honestly, why are you people arguing? Does it really matter? Some of these posters probably do look young for their ages. Some may not, but what do you care if they are happy in their fantasyland? Next topic please...

I'm 39, and just the other day someone thought I looked 30. When I was 35, someone thought I looked 26. I'm also Asian, and I have two young children. I think I look old. It's not a big deal. I'm fine with my age.

I think a aged 10 years at 45.

NP too, when did she say look young = look good? Look old = look bad?

Only old people think like that.

The reason that it is rare to look a decade younger is your life experience is written on your face. Unless you spend 10 years in a coma.

I love to look at old people's faces and imagine the life they lived.

I'm 44 with infant, 6 and 9 year old. I am always so fearful people will ask if I'm mom or grandma but so far, haven't gotten. But great post because now I just Had baby, I want desperately to get in shape and look younger. But I wonder if I lose 25 pounds-- would I look older? My parents had good friends who lost weight and when they came to my wedding, I thought they looked 50 years older!!! I have to lose weight anyhow, but I do worry. Also thought about getting rid of the turkey neck I have. I think I look older than 44 now But maybe because I have a newborn!!! I can't ever gauge anyone else's age!

Funny enough- the ones I know that look youngest aren't the ones in great shape- its actually the ones holding a little extra weight or at least have round faces that hold a little extra weight- obviously I am not talking about being obese and/or dressing sloppily etc.

I keep getting "you look so young lately" type comments from friends- I'm 34 and look my age range maybe 31-34 (no wrinkles, lines or greys yet but clearly no longer 24) but I'm still working on getting 18 pounds off from having my baby this year. It definitely makes your face look younger.

I'll trade it though- I hate my belly and fluffy face
