Husband - parenting fail last night - how upset should I be? (I need perspective)

Anonymous
If my husband accidentally fell asleep in this circumstance, he would be freaking out and apologizing within an inch of his life when I woke him up. He'd take it on himself to unload everything AND do something really nice in restitution without being asked-- eff hunting. And my husband is not perfect, just a good, mindful dad and a good, respectful partner.

The bedtime shouldn't be rigid for a weekend - and he is a parent too.
Wet diapers happen and don't harm anything unless is habitual.
Don't expect DH to parent to your standards. He has his own parenting style, and the more rigid you are the less he will want to parent. By creating these rules only makes him not want to be involved. He knows all he'll ever do is screw up by your standards, so why even try?
The gum, eh, let it go. My husband gave our 2 year old popcorn.

OP stated that she wouldn't have minded if it was a weekend night, but it was a school night.

My husband is the same. But I would wake him up. And I would never go to Bowie for groceries. Actually he works full time and is the one who does the groceries.

Since he cannot put the kids to sleep (he always fell asleep first), he has others responsabilities, like do the groceries.

I hope you will laugh - together - about it in the future.

Two things:

1. Why is your 3 yr old still in diapers?

2. Sweetie, your husband is not really hunting. Haven't you seen Broke Back Mountain??
