2 of my kids received cyphers (in-state). Accepted to ivies and a bunch of T20s. One was accepted to UVA (EA), the other rejected. The one rejected from UVA was accepted to only one T20 while other kid had many T20/ivy acceptances. |
It does not tell you much if a student got into Harvard and gets a cypher. It tells you a lot more if the best a student got into was JMU and got a cypher. |
| I know some TJ seniors this year who got cyphers but were deferred UVA (EA) |

Got one today!! Arlington
Arlington’s mail has been backlogged for a month. They are doing big hiring to work through it. |
Accepted to 7 (T75) others HS class of 23. Waitlisted at UVA and NEU. Rejected Harvard and Penn. |
What’s your point? |
It doesn't mean anything. A Cypher is a great card. You should be proud of it. |
DC got the postcard and we accidentally had just scheduled a revisit to another school that conflicts with DFAS. Can someone who has portal access share if there are other days available to revisit in the spring for the 2030 class? I think that W&M might call them Green & Gold days? I know that DC won't be able to register until officially admitted but it would be helpful to pencil those days on the calendar. April is busy. Thanks! |
If they really got the cypher card, there is a note from their admission officer on it, typically hand written (was in 21 and 23 when my kids got theirs). They can email that person and ask about visit days. BTW Both kids got into at least one T10/ivy later that spring Everyone who got a cypher at their school which was only 3-4 each year, also got into UVa and most got at least one other T25 or T13 LAC |
