| How does Villanova compare for Catholics? |
Based on what? Tell me how Georgetown, the preeminent Jesuit school in America, has watered down its values? Or are you just looking for an excuse because the school still values diversity, unlike Notre Dame or Boston College (weak!). |
That was a joke--the 7 billion number, so I don't have a cite. Yes, I do think people think about the Church because of things that are of general interest including (1) the Church's institutionalization of child rape and related obstruction of justice and (2) in the U.S., the prevalence of Catholics on the Supreme Court advancing the pro-life agenda. |
| All this speculation is irrelevant because they added it back. |
Father Pete is great we loved his lecture and what he had to say. However, the rest of the admitted tour vibe did not feel the same. I think they try too hard to be a lot of different things. Kid ultimately chose a different school last cycle. However, there are still people there of great faith including Father Pete. If you are of deep faith, you can still find it at Notre Dame just was not as obvious everywhere. |

They have a point. Notre Dame is only 4-5% African American. https://www.niche.com/colleges/university-of-notre-dame/students/ |
We understand it happens in public schools. But there is no religion that claims public schools have divine authority and are led by God. Such a religion would have a hard time justifying such a theological belief in light of the child abuse happening public schools. Also, the analogy isn't very good, as there's no evidence of the highest levels of public school leadership being aware and hiding it. But if there was, you would have a very hard time convincing anyone (other than 2025 Republicans, I suppose) that those high-level pedo protectors deserved any amount of divine authority. |
Georgetown dumped Catholicism about 10 years back They only trot it out if they need to fundraise. Go on a tour and you will see this to be true. |
Go to Georgetown if you want Georgetown. Don't go to Georgetown if you want a Catholic school. Georgetown is no longer Catholic |

Notre Dame reversed this mistake.
The outcry against this terrible decision was swift and passionate. The Pope even got involved. |
The Pope called the entire Notre Dame leadership to Rome. Problem fixed, for now. |
Agree. It is still a great school. Just not a great Catholic ethos if that is what you are looking for in a college. |
