About today's hearing:

"Judge Paula Xinis is ordering the government to provide daily updates on the progress in the case of Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia, the Maryland father wrongly deported to a prison in El Salvador.

“We are going to make a record of everything the government is doing and not doing,” she said, breezing past objections from Drew Ensign, the lawyer for the government.

“The court’s deadlines are impractical,” Ensign said. He added that the government would comply with the Supreme Court’s order.

The hearing is over, after less than half an hour."

Now Kabbage Patch Karoline says that the Administration has been ordered to “facilitate” not “effectuate” bringing this man back to the US. These morons are ridiculous and cruel beyond words, and everyone who voted for these fools owes the rest of us an apology.

i thought the Supreme Court was pretty clear in its ruling what it expected from BOTH the lower courts and the Government:

"The District Court should clarify its directive, with due regard for the deference owed to the Executive Branch in the conduct of foreign affairs. For its part, the Government should be prepared to share what it can concerning the steps it has taken and the prospect of further steps."

If Judge Xinis is planning to build a contempt case for failing to report daily, it's going to be tough.

didn't someone on DCUM use this fine distinction a few hours ago?! I am more and more convinced that she practices her ideas first on DCUM! There are posts that sound exactly like her.

There’s a definitely some kind of Trump apparatchik posting here, but not her.

To be fair, the man is in El Salvador now and is a ward of the Salvadoran government, so the US government is no longer in control of the fate of the subject. Long story short, Trump sold these people to El Salvador and cannot reverse the transaction, nor do they want to.

Kidnapping someone withoout due process and shipping them off to a gulag is not national security nor the conduct of foreign affairs.

Judge Xinis's original order requiring the government to bring Abrego Garcia back to the United States was in effect for more than 72 hours before it was administratively stayed by Chief Justice Roberts on Monday. What, if anything, has the US government done to reverse this miscarriage of justice?

The lying is really quite extraordinary. They can’t defend the actions of this administration on the bare facts. They must lie. And lie very plainly. The truth can’t even be spun or massaged, it’s that bad. It’s really something. Historians will have a field day writing about this time period if such a subject exists in the far future.

Sure, Trump could. He could get this guy back if he wanted. Here's how:

"Hey, El Salvador, if you don't return Garcia, we won't give you any more money to take our brown people. We'll pay Guatemala or Brazil the $6 million to take them instead."

El Salvador would immediately return him...except you and I and everyone else with 2 brain cells know that this poor guy is dead. I doubt they could even produce a body for identification.

Let's bring him back, prove he's an MS13 member and then deport him.

Easy peasey!

An apology would not even remotely make up for what they have done.
