Some people have to recieve empathy before they even understand what it is for themselves. So you can keep being a dick and thinking that kindness and empathy with magically spring up out of nothing, or you can spread the kindness and empathy you claim to want to see. |
They don’t want anything from you. They hate you. |
I know that. I'm Black and a woman. But I try to be solution focused. We need these people. We won't accomplish what needs to be accomplished without them. And we will never get them on our side if we tell them their pain and fear and struggles don't matter. There is real pain and fear and struggle at the root of all of this, whether you want to acknowledge it or not. And we do in fact need them, whether you want to acknowledge that or not. |
We do need those people, but where I get stuck is that those men can be so disconnected from themselves, they become outwardly destructive and many (not all) but many are not able to express that they even have pain, fear or struggle much less be open to help. It is a tricky situation. I agree the major issue is there aren’t enough pathways for high school male graduates. So many of these communities have been decimated by drug use, it makes it very very difficult to make headway in helping them. I’m not saying don’t try, but entrenched poverty is hard to beat. Especially under the current economy. |
Well, the republican bubble is causing a global economic crash that the oligarchs and war mongers will take full advantage of. |
Excellent post. It's wasted on the partisan shills over here, but very on point. |
+1000 MAGA consists of poorly educated, typically innumerate people who don't understand logical reasoning. Democratic cultists, however, are willfully ignorant and lazy minded hacks. They have the education and resources to debunk the lies they believe, but are too morally bankrupt and obsessed with attacking those outside their cult to care about truth. The DC-area UMC Trump-hating AUSA with two trans kids and a $1m+ home their parents gave them a downpayment for is as much a lost cause as any southern Trump-loving MAGA. |
Which points in time are you talking about? Where the Dems held both houses and the presidency? I get the feeling you abide by the unitary executive theory where Congress has no role. But before this presidency, Congress matters. Laws had to pass both houses and be signed into law by our presidency. |
+1. Interesting to see how they’ll come to terms with this one. |
I will admit I did not understand the enormity of the hermetic republican bubble. I didn't believe people would vote for someone who still couldn't admit he lost the last election and had an insulting name for everyone he didn't like. Maybe I should watch more fox news to understand what the sheep are being fed. |
A President Harris wouldn’t have us looking at the futures market on a Sunday night. |
You claim impaired and yet he was able to lead the best economy in the world. |
The thing is, both groups are in bubbles and it is because the format in which we consume news has no regulations. We have failed to make sure both sides are represented in our daily news. You are all missing the point and fighting between each other rather than seeing the bigger picture. The Fairness Doctrine and the rise of podcasts, social media and cable channels that have no requirement to give people factual information and present both sides of an issue are the reason why we get stuck in these bubbles. Rather than seeing it as a moral failing that a person gets stuck in a red or blue bubble, we need to see how information can be presented online in a way that is honest, factual and presents both dems and republican ideas on how to solve the issues. |
Really shortsighted post. CHIPs is important because S Korea owns the CHIPs market. We need to build it here. It is literally the major thing that cannot be made in the US, yet it controls our lives. So yes, CHIPs was a brilliant move. For those talking about what Biden did. I work in Clean Energy. Our companies built factories in the US and employs thousands of people in the industry. Clean energy is cheaper and can be brought online faster than oil and gas. Those jobs would not exist if it were not for the IRA. There was a special tax credit for domestic content. Companies took advantage of that and re-shored. That is how you bring manufacturing jobs to the US. Not tariffs. |
You are too reasonable and smart for DCUM Democratic loyalists. |
