What do we do??

This isn't just Trump issue, there are a lot of people who voted for him. It's no use denying this. You can protest and make phone calls, but I truly believe that the only way out is through. Give MAGA the wheel and let them drive the country off a cliff. Focus on tending your garden and keeping yourself sane and healthy.

Sometimes you just have to step back and let the wild fires burn themselves out.

I personally doubt that Musk $250M on “tech support” didn’t put a thump on voting machines. So “winning” popular vote is very much in doubt. We should have done a paper audit.

And maybe, just maybe, we can save the world.

It would have been much easier in the recent past and will be much easier in the future if Dems can just nominate normal/average POTUS candidates that would prevent someone as awful as Trump from ever gaining the power of the POTUS office. What you are suggesting sounds like going around your arse to get to your elbow.

Normal/average POTUS, you mean white men?

Come on, just look around, I am a lib and the person who mainly brought us into this ginormous s$itshow is a 82 yr old white man who reneged on his promise to be one term president, refused to announce he was not running for a second term and to allow younger, capable candidates of all colors, sexual orientations and genders to face off in a presidential primary. And all this because of his lust for power and delusion that he was the only one capable to win an election, in addition to total lack of self awareness concerning his age related decline.

+1000 if not for the god awful Joe frickin Biden, we wouldn't be enduring this Trump second term nightmare.

I think it’s a copout to blame Joe Biden. He is us. We wanted him bad in 2020. We insisted from 2021 to 2024 that we was doing a great job. We embraced the mask mandates, the covid mandates, the open borders, and on and on. We denied that he was senile. We were happy for him to run again in the primaries. We were happy the DNC made it impossible for RFK Jr to fairly participate in the primaries. He didn’t like Pfizer, but we did, so good riddance. We rallied behind Kamala. We didn’t demand an open process. We voted for her. So. While it’s true that we aren’t the bosses of the Party, dcurbanmoms are generally On Board with everything the Party does. Yes, Biden sucks. Bet we too lost to Trump. We too drove the flyover folks to the Republican Party. And we should ask ourselves what we did wrong.

I'm not sure the country will be put back exactly the way it was. I think we have been irrevocably scarred.

But we have had past scars. Connecting with others will help you not feel alone in this.

Elections in 2026 and 2028 if they are still fairly held.
And otherwise it has to be civil war.

What if fair elections in 2026, 2028, and 2032 are fairly held and republicans win? At what point is it okay for a moral minority to go to war to protect migrant rights and trans rights and civil servant paycheck rights?!

Can we keep in the here and now and table this discussion til 2026?

Also who determines what is "fairly held?" When your dude wins?

It's not popularity. It's fighting for the Constitution itself. If people don't care about it, maybe this form of government was too much for them.

Democrats aren’t famous for loving the Constitution. In fact, they’ve long resented the bitter clingers who do.

Not sure where you get that from, but this seems to not be a party thing

If you support the Constitution, it's clearly being violated.

How so?

Is peacefully splitting into two countries an option? The rift seems irreconcilable.

Speaking of the 1700s

Same year as the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 that Trump is now using.

His executive power needs to be shut down if he can't even remain in the last 50 years let alone the last century to cherry pick the laws he applies

Laws expire?

Yes we. The DNC put it’s fingers in the scales, but we didn’t exactly complain.

No that was Trump. He was very mad about Gillian’s calling him out on his sexual misconduct which included a long association with Trump. Sounds like a retaliatory fake news story plant by MAGA misinformation machine.
