Have you never been in a public high school with 3000 students? Dr Mooney cannot physically prevent kids from leaving the building if they really want to. Also, there was a staff-student game that morning, so kids could leave without being questioned. But maybe those kids never entered the building. That's not the kind of info that will be available in a letter to parents. MCPS is generally extremely tight-lipped about serious events affecting student safety, and the Principals are kept on a short reign when it comes to disclosure of information. No one is happy about that, but in all fairness, that's not all on this Principal's shoulders. So no, Dr Mooney is not a "piece of work". We've had to exert a lot of pressure on Dr Mooney over the years for him to cough up information instead of hewing closer to Central Office guidelines. That's why I'm relatively satisfied with this letter. It's better than in previous years, and way better than the letters sent by some other Principals at other high schools... |
rein, not reign

And where were the others from? OLOL? ![]() Does it look like any kids in video had on a school uniform? |
different question. unrelated to this.
Which MCP HS has smallest student population? |
Poolesville. Why would you ask that on this thread? |
Yes should have made a new thread for that one question. Maybe next time. |
Not PP you responded to. Don't think the PP up thread meant for one man to physically be at entrance doors of school. Duh. But what should be done next, as another PP mentioned metal detectors (but but this isn't PG county). |
Can these students be suspended? This is never going to get better if students are allowed to disruptive the day like this. |
EXACTLY!!!!! |
OLOL goes into lockdown when BCC does. wasted day for those students too. |
If they are suspended, do they stay home? |
Peter Moran’s school system. This type of stuff did not happen before Moran. #Facts |
