https://docs.google.com/document/d/19ehsVbhgwYE8G_CjNcsz-fQHBeGbxMtDxg76fm-8tU0/edit?tab=t.0
Dr. Mooney is really a piece of work.
In what way? This is much better communication than last year's.
DP. went into lockdown mode out of an abundance of caution After reviewing footage of the fight it was determined that some of the people involved were students at Bethesda-Chevy Chase. So, those students involved in incident had been on campus in morning then left? or they never entered school doors today?
Have you never been in a public high school with 3000 students? Dr Mooney cannot physically prevent kids from leaving the building if they really want to. Also, there was a staff-student game that morning, so kids could leave without being questioned. But maybe those kids never entered the building. That's not the kind of info that will be available in a letter to parents. MCPS is generally extremely tight-lipped about serious events affecting student safety, and the Principals are kept on a short reign when it comes to disclosure of information. No one is happy about that, but in all fairness, that's not all on this Principal's shoulders. So no, Dr Mooney is not a "piece of work". We've had to exert a lot of pressure on Dr Mooney over the years for him to cough up information instead of hewing closer to Central Office guidelines. That's why I'm relatively satisfied with this letter. It's better than in previous years, and way better than the letters sent by some other Principals at other high schools...
