And Thursday. The cold advisory goes through Thursday morning at 10am.

FCPS will start on time tomorrow and not even bother to explain the inconsistency.

Sorry Wed. They will start on time on Wed.

Haha yes. I don’t even know why tomorrow.

And no I’m not just a parent. I’m a teacher and 2 hour delays are so frustrating.

Is there much of a difference between 7 degrees at 7am and 10 degrees at 9am? Seems like a 2 hour delay would not solve any problems. I think we will start on time.

Not much difference between 7 degrees and 10 degrees, but the delay does two other things. It gives them more time to work the bus issues - you know some won't start or will run rough in the cold, so this gives them time to swap out busses or make other adjustments. Second thing is that it puts the middle school run after sunrise, so everyone (bus drivers and students walking) can at least see patches of ice before hitting them.

I can’t stand school staff calling students “kiddos”. It’s so unprofessional.

Milllennial mommas are the ones who started using "kiddos" instead of children. It's grating, I can't stand it.

I’ll add “littles” and “kinders” to that list.

"Littles" is the worst one. Who decided that "littles" was cute? It's not. It makes the speaker sounds uneducated and unprofessional.

"Kiddos" is next in line for most annoying. "Kids" is acceptable, but "kiddos" is not. It's unprofessional.

"Friends" is also incredibly annoying. Students are not teachers' friends.

I've never heard anyone use the term "kinders," but if I did, that would irritate me as much as "littles."

I feel like they set a precedent which is a lot of wasted instruction time. And there is a lot of testing going on now too.

DP. Don't be rude. Closures are a region-wide topic. All are welcome.

At least use proper German grammar and call them Kinder. Kinder literally means children. There's no reason to add an s. It's like saying childrens.
