We just need to get back to a regular schedule. It was the right call.

Really what about the schools under renovation...it was so cold and many kids at my kids school did not have coats today and were walking between the buildings early this morning. Enough is enough from entitled people.

Oh please. There are plenty of coats/jackets available. Family liaisons can help kids whose families cannot afford them. I work at a Title 1 school and the closet is overflowing with brand new coats. Kids can wear their coats as they walk between buildings. This isn't that difficult. What did they do yesterday when it was 16 degrees at noon?

I believe that school should be in session, but I also work at a Title I school and we do not have a closet, overflowing with coats. I thought we determined that not every school is exactly the same.

Your family liaison, school social worker and school counselor should hopefully be working to support students who need coats. Have you asked them for help with students who need items?

Of course and sometimes it takes a couple of days, but we don’t have closets full of supplies like the PP mentioned.

A kid can walk around outside from building to budding for 5 min in a t-shirt and shorts in these temps and be completely fine. Cold, yes... but frostbite, no. As you already know. Enough is enough from people pretending this is an issue.

So you do, though, have access to oats for kids who need them so they get to school in the cold and learn? That’s the key point.

Many of these kids chose not to wear a coat.
