Wicked

I went to see it today with a 9, 13, and 14 year old. They all enjoyed it and the length of the movie didn’t bother them! I thought it was spectacular.

we just watched wizard of oz as preparation to see it over thanksgiving!

I saw it tonight and enjoyed it. A bit overlong but not annoying. Both leads were excellent. I loved the visuals. The art nouveau / art deco aesthetic was amazing and green is my favorite color anyway. Now I want to dig out my DVD copy of the Wizard of Oz and watch that. And also looking forward to part two.

The movie was incredible! Can’t wait to see it again.

It over delivered. I laughed, I cried and healed a bit of my inner child watching this film. I’ve seen the musical in NY and I wasn’t sure if the movie would deliver but it overdelivered in the best way!!! Go see it!! I want to see it again.

Seems crazy to do this over two movies.

The musical length and pacing was perfect. Don't see the need to stretch it. I will probably go but what until the sing alongs die down.

Is the second one in the can at least?

For those that thought it was amazing -

had you seen the musical?

Loved Ariana (and I generally am not a fan, but she pulled this off). I did think it could have been done in one long movie - all aspects of the movie production were great. It was well done. Fiyero is just naturally charming. He would shine anywhere.

I am not a fan of Cynthia (sorry). I find her very hard on the eyes. The tooth gap was too distracting for me.

I've seen the musical and thought the movie was brilliantly done- it did what it was supposed to do for a MOVIE. Delivered on visuals, storyline and vocals. Hit in the feels the right way with the few parts that were expanded upon. I am not a fan of either lead but they DELIVERED! Brava.

The song with the two of them is so annoying.

I'm a guy who has never seen the play, hates musicals, and didn't know the plot of the movie and even I enjoyed it. I wasn't ecstatic about seeing it, but the music and visuals were great! To all the husbands and fathers out there, you will enjoy it even if you're not a fan of musicals.

Isn't the 2nd half of the musical really dark and scary? I can't imagine that making a good movie on its own (but it's been a while since I last saw it).

This is really corny.

Does anyone else find all the hype about not singing during the movie sort of bizarre? I have been to musicals on broadway (including this one) and in movie theaters -/ and no one near me has ever burst out into song drowning out the stars.

Is this Tik Tok influencer induced nonsense ?
