Only democrats are allowed to be elected president. Otherwise democracy will die in darkness.
Maga is not Republican. I'd be ok with any of the candidates the GOP has floated before. But now serious politicians like Romney, Bush are too whatever for magas. The magas are a fascist cult of personality. It's depressing, I agree with OP.

Bush was Hitler, now Trump is Hitler. Republicans are all Hitlers.

This exactly. Some of you may be too young to realize that this is a pattern. Bush was a moron and Trump is a racist or facist. Romney was called a racist and also derided by Obama for considering that Russia was still a threat. Every single Republican is characterized by their opponent and the water carrying media and Hollywood as somehow fatally flawed. So those of use who pay attention and are old enough to see the pattern immediately ignore all the hyperbole leveled at EVERY single Republican. We know. We are all racists and all hate women and we all carry guns and sleep with our siblings and live in trailers. Yeah yeah. We get it. Meanwhile, I’m a middle aged women who is a lawyer, has had an abortion, comes from a family or educated people none of whom own guns or trailers and I will vote for Trump. He is a better choice for the economy and for the future of our country geopolitically. For those of us who aren’t lemmings and aren’t afraid to be called names, it’s really an easy call. Kamala is a thinly veiled communist.

Same here. Middle aged suburban mom who is a regular poster. Frequently called a troll, Boris, etc whenever I express conservative opinions.

Some of the people here have never left their insulated bubble. I’ve voted for both Dems and Republicans. I don’t agree with everything Trump says, but I support vast majority of his policies.

What makes you think they are all uneducated? I know a woman who is a Ph. D. In Economics from Harvard who has voted for him three times and will again in 2024! She is not an anomaly.

Thinking through my Trump voting friends, they are all college educated and almost all have law degrees or MBAs.

Seriously? How do they justify voting for someone who is so obviously an inarticulate, stupid misogynist? I really don’t understand it. I do not know a single Trump supporter and can’t fathom how anyone can support him.

My daughter will not vote for Harris because of the economy - she cannot believe how prices have skyrocketed since Biden got into office and why the heck she and her husband cannot afford a home in the DC area despite making over 200K and having over 100K down payment. The interest rate, home taxes and subsequent escrow take the monthly payments out of their reach. They are willing to take a hefty commute, but during Covid, all the DCers and close in had to have their 'country' homes out in Leesburg and west, driving the prices sky high. A year ago, the idea of moving seems unfathomable to both of them. Now they both want out. In addition, they have started digging into their own news sources and are surprised at how exaggerated the claims about Trump were. The last straw was the offering of all the goodies to the "newcomers" the Biden/Harris administration brought in, leaving poor Americans drowning. The farther she gets from her college years, the more practical she's becoming.

If she's planning on having children, I hope she doesn't choose to move to a state that would put her life at risk should she experience a pregnancy complication.

His old is your daughter?

Prices went up because of Covid and supply chain issues. Gas prices are up. Gas is $8/gallon in Europe.

Prices have gone up all over the world. Prices are up in UK, Ireland, France, Portugal. There is inflation worldwide!!!! Are they blaming Biden? No! She needs a better under of economics and the global economy. Voting for Trump is not the solution.

Has she been outside of the USA?

I thought that all states had exceptions for the life of the mother? Also, you used the words "choose to move to a state" - so it would be her choice?
complications.

One would think that, right? And yet, women have been left to go septic or hemorrhage so much blood at home that they pass out on bathroom floors in TX and FL. Told to wait in a hospotal parking lot until their fevers are high enough to warrant treatment. Forced to carry doomed pregnancies at the risk to their lives or future fertility. Women in ID have had to be transported out of state due to Idaho's refusal to follow EMTALA (see Supreme Court case in which ID AG actually argued about how close to death a woman must be). There are numerous lawsuits in the works from these cases. It is a wonder no one has died from delayed care yet. Or they have, and those cases haven't been made public.
Infant mortality has increased in TX since 2022, likely due to the fact that women are being forced to carry doomed pregnancies to term and give birth to babies who are only destined to suffer and die in the short hours or days that they may survive.
If you've never known someone who has been affected by life-threatening pregnancy complications or terminal fetal diagnoses, consider yourself fortunate.

I am a former Republican, disgusted by both Trump's behavior and contempt for his fellow countrymen, and also by the tragic impact his 3 SC picks have had on the rights of women in this country, and may continue to have, if some on of the Christian Nationalists who have taken over the GOP get what they want with regard to birth control and IVF. I'd love to be able to vote for a moderate, middle-of-the-road GOP candidate who has the ability to work across the aisle. But they're all considered RINOs now and have been run out of the party.

I honestly find this hard to believe. More likely, your friends are reluctant to talk politics around you because you are so obviously biased. I live in NW DC and I know more than a few Trump supporters.

In fact, I just wore my Trump-Vance t-shirt to Giant and got more than a few smiles and nods!

DP. Bias, shmias. More like the MAGA hide it because they know supporting Trump is shameful and indefensible.

I could forgive people who made a mistake in 2016, but if you support Trump/Vance in 2024, that says something about your character, really your lack of character, that cannot be ignored or rationalized away. It means you can't be trusted. You are willing to overlook things that should not be overlooked.

It says you are fine with supporting a leader who is a convicted felon, a fraud, a serial liar, a sexual harasser/rapist, a serial adulterer, a grifter, not to mention a traitor against our country. It says you lack either critical thinking skills or integrity or both.

This isn't a simple difference of opinion on financial policy here.

17:03 again.

Please reread your post. Do you even realize how unhinged you sound?

Believe me, I have a TON of friends who are for Harris. Never in a million years would I condescendingly remark that I could "forgive" them for who they vote/ voted for, nor would I tie their vote to their "character." They are all good people, just very misguided politically, and brainwashed by the media, as are you PP.

Your string of insults against Trump is becoming boring tripe. I could name just as many pejorative claims against Harris and don't even get me started on Walz!

You want millions of people to be rounded up and put into camps or deported? It's about 5% of the work force - who will do those jobs?
You want an across-the-board tariff on all imports, which will cause prices to go up and start a trade war which will hurt American exporting companies?
You want tens of thousands of civil servants to be fired and replaced by unqualified, inexperienced Trump loyalists?
You want Trump to order the DOJ to investigate, arrest and prosecute his enemies? While at the same time ordering them to drop the cases against himself, amd pardoning all those who participated in January 6, including the Proud Boys who were convicted of insurrection.

You cannot even hope to find anything about Harris or Walz that is actually true (versus your MAGA conspiracy-theory complete lies BS... ha ha ha pejorative claims...ha ha ha) that would even come close to what Trump has ACTUALLY done.

You are completely disconnected from reality. This is why pretty much anyone who is not MAGA has no respect for people who are MAGA. You guys can't tell your ass from your elbow and wouldn't know the truth if you fell over it.

Any candidate who talks about terminating “all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution”, would seem to be headed in the hellhole direction. Right now, the Republican candidate is the only one who seems to object to the Constitution itself.

The Democrats might wish to amend portions of it, but they would be following the guidelines embedded within the Constitution to make such changes.

No they don't. Democrats lawfare things to get their way.

They weaponize the legal system to go after opponents.

They have their king sign unconstitutional executive orders and then play the gap until the Supreme Court steps in.

They reinterpret language and terms to effect change.

The refuse to enforce laws on the books to further their ideological stance of social and restorative justice.

They seek to stack courts with favorable personalities, instead of virtuous ones, to get their way.

I don't know where you've been, but everyone can see it for themselves. The only "guidelines: they follow are those barked out by the DNC, ACLU and SPLC.

Who do you think you are fooling?
