Is anyone else depressed about MAGA?

I’m sadder every day by the uneducated, racist, misogynistic, homophobic citizens of this country. I just can’t believe how many of them are out there. It’s depressing.

Many are highly educated and well off. And many live in Democratic cities and states. Jan 6 cell data was fascinating. Poor people don’t own big boats.

They have been around for decades...it just took a special candidate like Trump to give them permission to be like that in public.

Modern society has bred a simmering anger in a lot of people. I attribute it to loss of community and feeling “unimportant” compared to the mass of celebrity and wealth culture that’s promulgated by the mass media. In 1940 you could feel good about living in a small town, participating in church, running a small business or farm, and being a “big fish in a small pond.” It provided the emotional support for a satisfying life. Today we’re isolated and resentful. We constantly compare ourselves to pop celebrities and billionaires and feel worthless. The anger builds and the MAGA bullies are able to harness it for political ends.

Put down the phone and go into your community and proof, this problem is severely curtained.

And the NFL is the opiate of these people.

It reminds me of life on high school. With social media and Trump, my high school classmates have found their voices.

Yep, I am depressed because I stopped communicating wrong with a LOT of family and friends because of their ridiculous thoughts and beliefs. These were educated people who were never political. What the hell happened?

Same but it’s my entire family of origin. So we just talk about the weather and what the kids are up to. Can’t talk anything off substance and we keep the visits short and spaced out. It’s very sad.

I can't believe that people I know are intelligent, sane people have voted for him and will vote for him again. It boggles my mind.

The MAGA cult is a whole other level. They seem to see him as portrayed on his trading cards, like a superhero that has zero basis in reality.

They are just patiently waiting for you to come back from the dark side. Think how sad it is for them.

We have new friends now in the Cheney's and Bush's. So don't be too sad.

The rise of Fox News and loss of watching a daily, reputable news program hasn’t helped. Not to mention the demise of so many local newspapers.
