Did I miss something? Is he well-known for being religious? Or having controversial religious views?

I wasn't referring to his bias here. I was referring to the bias of the people who claimed this was all religious persecution. They are biased to absurd conspiracy theory.

He was leading the Jewish Educators Alliance. Recognizing and calling out antisemitism is not "conspiracy theory."

No, but claiming that students, parents, school staff, and the police worked together to concoct a false story of abuse because he's Jewish is a wild conspiracy theory.

The fact that you even write that is self-proving of bias that causes you to believe conspiracy theory.

I am neither. Do you know him or have you worked with him personally? If so, what gives you the right to think you speak for all of us? You don't. Maybe it was an accident, maybe it wasn't. Neither of us were there. I do know that calling the police for stepping on someone's foot is extreme. When was the last time you called the police for that? I'll wait.

The AP called the police because her husband is the school resource officer for the school. She should have followed protocol and reported it to CPS instead of calling her husband.

It really doesn’t matter who she called because the arresting officer (not her husband btw) viewed the footage and saw what he saw which was incriminating.

Seriously. MCPS has chosen NOT to involve the Police for other situation - the Damascus rape case, the Rockville HS sex case. In the Damascus case, they specifically did not want to involve the police.

Yet, here someone called the police for this??

And the staff involved in the Damascus / Rockville cases were WRONG not to call the police. The staff at Ritchie Park were right to call the police. Bravo to them for doing it the right way and protecting a FIVE YEAR OLD

Exactly this. It's not MCPS protocol to immediately call the police for something like this. This sounds like it was a personal vendetta against him. She needs to be investigated as well.

He is not the school resource officer for the school.

Yes he is. He covers the Richard Montgomery cluster

https://thermtide.com/16732/news/mcps-returns-police-to-schools/

Actually, I believe it is MCPS policy to report any witnessed crimes to the police. There is also an obligation to report suspected or witnessed abuse to CPS. Note the difference between suspected and witnessed. What a crime is witnessed, there is almost certainly universal requirement for the personnel to report it to the police. This is why MCPS Policy requires calling the police when there are weapons or drugs. In other words, crimes must be reported to the police.

It is required to call the police and the AP did her job. Those students who came forward to their teachers were heard as well. For once something illegal in mcps was not covered up and swept under the rug

Any excuse to distract from the fact that he was aggressive toward a child

Wow, award goes to you for the most poorly composed sentence I have seen in a while. Bravo.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the sentence.

Who said that? No one.

How often does MCPS call the police over an in school incident?

Did MCPS want him gone no matter what happened?

I heard the principal was just stepping on a brown recluse spider that was about to bite the child. Heroic, really.

The schools are required to call and notify police about all assaults. Police may not respond if it's minor, but they should be notified.

Now, of course mcps doesn't always follow the MOU. But that is the notification requirement.

I'm just trying to understand what the "religious persecution" crowd seems to think.

Now you're saying you think there really was an assault, but if he hadn't been Jewish then everyone would have covered it up?
