Y'all forget America is imploding and feeding on itself. You think this is not lost on GenZ ???

They can't afford housing. They can't afford food. They can't afford medical care. They can't afford college. They're forced to live in their mother's basement. Every single member of GenZ knows someone who has died from fentanyl overdose (unless they're living under a rock).

You think the disparity between the future they're facing vs. what was possible in their grandparent's generation is lost on them?

Who is kidding whom? Of course they don't want to vote. They're not stupid. They see the forest while y'all are lost looking at the trees.

These are also social media myths going around. Gen Z has the same opportunities that millennials, X, and yes, even Boomers had. This is all being fed into a funnel and there's literally no reality here. Their grandparents actually had it worse with regards to interest rates, inflation, but if I go online today I can find 100 Boomer bashing non facts ,particularly about money and affordability that are just inhaled.

Start with acknowledging their feelings. Remind them of alternative but let them decide for themselves.

In practice, “The situation in Gaza is both heartbreaking and maddening. You deserve your have a leader/president who holds your values. This election will come down to a choice. Think it like this:
You deserve nutritious and delicious food to sustain you. On one hand you have dry whole-wheat toast, on the other you have an arsenic sandwich. You can choose either of these or go hungry and hope you can sustain yourself for a while until you are offered something better.”

No. The choice is continuing support for Israel which will bring Trump in to power or treating Israel the same way we treat Russia, North Korea, Iran, etc.

It is time for you to put your values/issues aside for the country unless you feel Israel is more important vs the continuation of US?

It's high time to reevaluate US policy towards Israel regardless. This isn't the 1940s, 50's, and 1960's when Israelis were forging a country out of the desert, bravely fighting against despotic regimes, and creating a largely socialist state where living on collective farms and communities was the norm.

Now, for years, we see the IDF and the ultra-orthodox constantly abuse and harass both Arabs and Christians in Jerusalem. We've seen them use overwhelmingly disproportionate force, whether toward kids throwing rocks at tanks to leveling Gaza. We've seen that their politicians are cynical right-wing warmongers. Their youth often seem callous and indifferent to the suffering of others.

And what has the US gained from its blind support for people like Netanyahu? Not much.

However, gen z in America seems to have lost the plot. No doubt losing two years of school didn't help. They seem to have lost the habit of reading. They don't seem particularly informed about history or global affairs. They are overwhelmingly influenced by social media, particularly TikTok, which is an arm of the Chinese government. They seem to only think in binary terms. If Israel is bad, ergo Hamas - a vile Islamic extremist terrorist organization - is therefore good and simply fighting for the good of their people.

Gen Z seems pretty hopeless. They've spent their lives being inculcated with leftish identity politics. It is not a surprise that boys are increasingly turning towards the right. They've spent their entire lives being told they are the baddies because of their gender and the color of their skin and their voices are no longer welcome. So obviously they are moving away from the democratic party. Progressives meanwhile demand their purity tests. And vote for Biden won't do it.

Biden and democrats in general are in trouble. Gen Z is a lot more radicalized - in both directions - than prior generations.

Are they writing their Democratic elected officials and saying they will vote on this issue? Calling campaign offices?

They’re not wrong that the current policy is morally repugnant. But it is too soon to let this president off to hook for that policy, there are thousands of lives that could be saved.

This is a really good response. Thank you. As the election get's closer (like Sept.) I think talking about the three options is good.
Biden - old toast
Trump - arsenic sandwich
Stay home - go hungry

Shaking finger at someone and telling them know you’re wrong, you’re stupid is not the persuasive argument you think it is.

You’re just beyond blindly hypocritical. Beyond. YOU shook your finger at the people who have ethics and object to this war. You are the person telling these people to shut up and ignore their objections and vote for the party that will do the exact same thing Re Israel as the other party. This is so frustrating.

+100. I don’t know what the PP is smoking but Gen Z does not have the same opportunities as even the millennials…..housing is unaffordable, college is insanely expensive, healthcare costs go up every year, no one is taking climate change seriously and we are too busy sending billions to wars abroad instead of focusing on our problems at home.

You just don’t truly care about the youth vote. You are the problem: not the disaffected younger people you malign and blame. You ignore their economic reality and their view of Gaza at your peril. You cannot insult people and expect them to be enthused about how you see the world. This is basic, basic politics.

If you pander to this demographic, you lose others.

Gaza - I swear if this election comes down to Gaza, then we deserve Trump. Who will make things worse, of course.

No. We won’t deserve Trump. But your attitude is repulsive. It’s not motherfing “pandering” to consider that some of us are legitimately appalled at Biden repeatedly putting his fat fing thumb on the scale for Israel despite the casualty disparity.

Why can’t Gen Z see the big picture? Are you all just crazy not to see the wall we are about to hit if Trump gets in again? He’s a dictator and a criminal. How on earth can you all stay on the sidelines and say you aren’t going to vote in the upcoming election because of X, Y, or Z? How can you dare not vote and basically hand the presidential election to Trump, which is what he’s counting on…your apathy and confusion….because you actually think he’s a better candidate and forget everything else he stands for or has done to disrupt peace, including the insurrection?

Maybe they do see the big picture, which includes the Democrats whining endlessly, but never trying to fix anything.

There will never be a free Palestine, a 2 state solution, or an end to this conflict under Trump. Never- this will be it. Ukraine- finished. It's called Big Picture.
