Class Assignments - Notification?

Anonymous
My daughter doesn't have a teacher assigned for her foreign language, although there is one listed in the faculty directory. And the class is not in Schoology at all. There is a room to go to, so hopefully there will be a teacher in the room when they get there.

My daughter does not have a teacher for PE or English so no Schoology pages for those classes for her either.

I first checked Schoology, and thought they totally missed out on assigning her anything for one of her periods, because the class was missing in Schoology. Was going to call the school if that was the case. Hopefully the teacher was a late hire, and will be able to hit the ground running, come Monday.

Lunch assignments have always been a mystery to me, but they somehow work magic and the kids know when and where to go on day one.

I am happy to know there are parents who check Schoology.

You will need to look on your MS or HS website. Under the bell schedule listing there should be some sort of chart that says which classes or teachers go to A lunch, B lunch, C lunch, or D lunch for 5th period and for 6th period.

That will tell you which lunch schedule you have.

Unfortunately it isn’t there for everyone. Class members are listed at my daughter’s school but hidden at my son’s AAP center school. For him we see only the teacher.

Yeah, we could see the number of students in class, but no names. There is definitely no uniformity in the way things rolled out.

Yes, thanks for that tip. If I logged in, even as DS, I could not see the members, only how many. If my son logged in, he could see the full class list.

It is dependent on the class your child is in for the lunch blocks.

For example, my wing of the building has "D" lunch, so anyone in my 5th period class has that. The student may have the same or different lunch for even days, depending on their 6th period teacher.

The Principal at Chesterbrook Elementary said the same thing, and we are still waiting said email 😂 kids have been asking ALL DAY LONG, and went to bed without knowing the answer! Communication failure at its best!

Can the kids sit with whomever they want at lunch or do they have to stay eith their class? Fifth and sixth periods are the two classes where DC doesn’t know anyone, but he might know someone attending lunch at the same time.

They can eat with anyone in their same lunch block--not tied to their class.
