See, they are not just oil producers - evil is their second export.

On the scale of “with modernity we ought to know better” it does.

Where does modernity start in your calendar? Pre-Iraq or post?

Stalin wasn't Russian, and the country he led wasn't Russia either.

So what happened to the civil war? Was it ever real, or just a media illusion?

Sure. He was the the only Brazilian in the Russian revolution and civil war.
He was more Russian than most Russians - even if he was born in Georgia. Lenin, Stalin and Trosky were gods gift to humanity- Hitler just modernized killing.
If the Russians were half as intelligent as the Germans they would have killed more of their own “people”.

Another PSA to drive home the point that both Lenin and Stalin were not ethnic Russians, and led a multi-ethnic Soviet state where pain and pleasure was distributed across a broad swath of ethnicities. Including Russians but not exclusively so.

It's weird how you only include Europeans. What about Mao?

So as you have family gatherings and reminisce of the good times do you focus on your Hero of the Russian Federation or your dads Order of Lenin award?

Legit, highest of the lowest civilization.

OMG he was born in Imperial Russia, even if he was of Georgian ethnicity. He joined the Russian socialist party, long before there was a Soviet Union. He was the editor of Pravda at 23 15 years before the Russian Revolution. He studied in the Russian Orthodox Church and his very name is a Russian pseudonym.

If you are going to be pedantic, be accurate.
