Why in the hell should they?
Because the left has taken his statement and totally misconstrued it - the GOP is not going to condemn it.
Tuberville explained pretty clearly what he meant by his comment.
Why won't the left take him at his word? Seems that other Senators in Congress have.

Because it's un-American and words matter dimwit.

Even a decade ago, the GOP wouldn't have stomached it. But you and your kind have driven the "RINO"s out. Now the rest of us have to deal with your crappy party.

If you mean this statement:
The senator’s office then said in a statement to AL.com that Tuberville’s quote “shows that he was being skeptical of the notion that there are white nationalists in the military, not that he believes they should be in the military.”

Then Tommy is not racist, just stupid. But I believe he might be both.

Take a US Senator who was called by Rudy Guiliani to propagate action by the Senate in furtherance of a coup attempt?

No, he doesn't get the benefit of the doubt.

This is the quote I am referencing:

“Democrats portray all Trump people as white nationalists. That’s what I was saying ...” Tuberville said. “There’s a lot of good people that are Trump supporters that for some reason my Democratic colleagues want to portray as white nationalists. That’s not true.”

And, the comments on this thread confirm what he has said.

He’s lying again. That isn’t what he said. No one said all Trump supporters are white nationalists. He was asked specifically about actual white nationalists in the military and he wouldn’t denounce them because they are his people.

+1

The PP defending Tuberville, like many on the right, are making things up to fit their narrative, rather than actually listening to, or reading the actual words spoken.

The correct answer here should have been "there is no place in our society for racism and white nationalism, and the US military should be representing the best of what our country has to offer, with no place for such hateful rhetoric in its ranks"

But what Tuberville and the right are doing is purely gaslighting and lying. And then we have people in this forum defending it, vigorously.

If you are voting for the GOP, you are supporting White Nationalism. There is a reason why many traditional conservatives are either supporting the dems or simply not voting.

This is the biggest crock of crap. Truly.
I wonder how some people here make it day to day in a world filled with people of differing views.
I guess if you live in DC, you really do reside in a liberal bubble where you aren't accustomed to having your views challenged in person.

Or maybe YOU are in a "conservative" bubble where white nationalism, racism and subjugation of women is totally acceptable.

You know: traditional values!

Wait, I haven't read this whole thread - but are there really some people here asking what's wrong with white nationalism?

I remember when Republicans demanded that Obama use the term “radical Islamic terrorism.”

Yes.

38% of AL residents are people of color. He does realize that he represents the entire state.

Let's not forget that this guy is dumb. Not the brightest bulb.

What is 3/5 of 38%...that is what he thinks he is representing in terms of people of color.

Huh. If you had to guess, how many people are there on this forum making that argument?
